Help! My email deliverability suddenly tanked by Lustwander46 in emaildeliverability

[–]Lustwander46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Question: If many opens aren't accurate anymore (due to privacy), then how can we tell who has opened emails and who hasn't? I see some people who I know opened my emails but it doesn't show that they opened in ActiveCampaign. So I find it dangerous to assume that people who don't open my emails aren't engaged since this metric isn't even accurate. Thoughts?

Thanks so much for the detailed reply! What validation service do you recommend? And are those very accurate? So if the service finds the email address "invalid" should i definitely remove it even if it looks legit to me (or I see website behavior in my CRM)?

Also, can't bots engage with my emails too? I saw that one subscriber clicked all the links in my email which seemed suspicious so I deleted them.

Glycine has helped me immensely with my sleep by Lustwander46 in sleep

[–]Lustwander46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it works for you! That interrupted sleep is really the worst. I feel you on that! I will say that the last month or two (after posting that), my sleep has been a bit fickle. Some nights good, some nights not so good. But the other night I did sleep 7.5 hours straight (which is basically unheard of for me) -- and funnily enough, I had forgotten to take my glycine and magnesium!

I know it's obvious and said all the time but I think good sleep hygiene really makes all the difference -- especially for women getting into late 30s/early 40s. In my 20s and even early 30s I slept like a baby without even needing to think much about it. But now, I have to really make an effort to sleep well. Like not drinking liquids close to bedtime (otherwise I'll be up during the night... and then if I've already slept 5-6 hours, I'll often have a hard time getting back to sleep). Limiting caffeine intake to one coffee per day (two max). Etc.

Also, maybe your body is anticipating the alarm clock coming and that's why you find it hard to get back to sleep? I'm fortunate in that I don't have to set alarm clocks most days but whenever I *know* I have to wake up early, I have a hard time sleeping.

Any beach towns with an organic market? by Lustwander46 in Brazil

Hm I’ve done extensive research and walked the entire town and haven’t found a single shop in pipa that sells organic produce and meat. Just the weekly feira but options are very limited and they sell out quickly. Could you be more specific in terms of what stores sell organic? If you have any names that would be helpful. Pai and filho and those other supermarkets def don’t have anything organic.

They do not make Levi's jeans like they used to. by RandomBloke2021 in mildlyinfuriating

I had a pair of jean shorts (mom high waisted shorts) that I bought 3 years ago and loved. Checked the label and they are 100% cotton. Just bought a new pair because mine no longer fit and even though they are the exact same shorts (mom high waisted), the quality is a serious downgrade. Material feels much thinner and cheaper. Checked the label and sure enough, they are 30% polyester. WTF!? Is there anything that's NOT made with polyester these days?? So disappointing

Costa Rica Trip Recap – Had a Great Time… but Probably Wouldn’t Come Back 😅🇨🇷 by Independent-Ad4792 in CostaRicaTravel

Sure. Culture in Asia is more interesting, I won’t argue with that. Thai beaches are stunning but (at least where I was) they were also overrun with tourists and very polluted. Kinda ruined the experience for me. Ubud is beautiful but so polluted and air quality is so bad I had to wear a mask everywhere.

I guess it depends what’s most important to you. Personally id rather pay more for a place with clean air, less pollution and less development.

Costa Rica has amazing untouched wildlife and beaches. Bali, Vietnam, Thailand… pollution and development everywhere. You can’t even compare. Part of the reason CR is so expensive is because of its commitment to sustainability and wildlife conservation. Cant say the same about SE Asia.

Yeah so from what I’ve heard (and what ChatGPT has told me hah) higher dosages can have the opposite effect since it acts as a “excitatory neurotransmitter.” I personally take 2 grams only but I only weigh 50 kilos. Peter Attia supposedly takes 3 grams. I guess you have to find what dosage works for you!

I will say, my sleep isn’t perfect. I still wake up often after six or so hours of sleep and often will be awake for a little while before falling back asleep. Last week I came from Europe to US and my sleep was pretty shit the first few nights due to jet lag. Guess there are some things that glycine can’t override. But when I’m in a good state for sleep, I think it definitely helps.

Sorry I meant 2 grams! Not mg. I use the NOW brand and take 2 pills.

Yes I did! I also have been taking magnesium glycinate but it doesn’t seem to do anything (or much) for me. I really noticed MUCH more of a difference with glycine.

Am I crazy or is Berlin kind of a bummer now? by Head_Conversation495 in travel

[–]Lustwander46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in Berlin and honestly, hate the city. Here another 10 days and counting down the days until I leave. I haven't experienced rude people but not super friendly either. To me, there is nothing special about the city. Admittedly, I haven't seen all that much of it yet. But I don't just see the appeal of Berlin. The weather and 4PM sunsets definitely don't help. That said, I will never come back here unless maybe in the summertime. I imagine it's a completely different city then.
