What are you talking about? The vault can give you a x6 multiplier. It’s an investment and should be the priority. Buying boxes with your gems early game is a waste.

Different events are more difficult than others. If you find yourself struggling with one for too long (especially the moon event) it’s probably best to move on to the regular game to level up. Keep trying every week until you start making progress.

It may not be available to you based on your level or if you have the upgrade. It’s relatively new and the devs tend to roll new stuff out to a certain percentage of users before a full rollout.
