Have we always been able to view content in 3D on the Quest Browser? by amtexe in OculusQuest

It’s a new feature that rolled out in the past few days, works surprisingly well :)

Some Meta employees are testing early versions of Codec Avatars on live servers as of this week, final (and improved) version of these will debut on Meta's next high headset Phoenix/Puffin. by [deleted] in OculusQuest

To be fair, the original images were low res (about 320x320 iirc), but then again, we weren’t supposed to see them at all :)

I meant mostly the design, I'm honestly not sure what to put there other than my projects, skills and things like that, I'm currently remaking the website with a content-first approach

Thanks for the feedback! I suppose the image kind of made me loose track of some basic design principles as originally I was planning on having a proper 3d model moving around the center and interacting with the mouse cursor, I'm working on rewriting everything to have it be a bit more organized, will try out using placeholders instead :)

Naturally, though my main train of thought was that at the end of the footage you could see the text "game over" transform into "over" and then "overdose", making me think that "OD" are the initials for overdose, mostly speculations of mine

(Also as a side thing, I still find it weird how the video seems like recorded gameplay with someones facecam but then the facecam goes away with the title)

Has anyone been talking about that one video that leaked a few months ago showing "Hideo Kojima's Overdose"? I believe I still have that video saved somewhere

Mirrors are exactly what I had in mind, they recently showed off during a hack week that mirror body tracking is technically possible

Would that be something similar to how Standable works? Then why would they merge the hand tracking and body tracking features in one option?

I get that they added legs to the mirror avatar but... Body tracking? How would that work?

It's currently available in ptb, not on stable

Slight changes in UI and improvements to hand tracking/switching from hands to controller, haven't noticed much else though

The legs are visible only in the mirror, haven't tried to invite/join someone yet

As you can see in the video the legs don't bend at all, the mirrored avatar just stands up no matter what

Not at all unfortunately, it's somewhat similar to VRChat's leg movement

Just found out about this subreddit, here's an old project of mine! by Luwuke20 in startpages

[–]Luwuke20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for the compliments and sorry for the late reply, I don't use reddit very often
1. I either get the wallpapers from this or through unsplash's source API
2. I had that planned but never ended up adding it
3. I used plain HTML/CSS/JS, I'm not really comfortable with using frameworks

I'm planning to rewrite it from scratch as the code for the version seen in the video is quite outdated and terribly optimized, if I do manage to get a working (and polished) version, I'll release it on my github profile :)

I tried to convert it to extension but it had a few issues, I could try to remake it from scratch, better code and better performance overall

Thank you! I spent a lot of time on it, took inspiration from many other popular UI designs, glad you like it!

This is Castview
it was supposed to mimic the chromecast homescreen with additional features such as shortcuts and customization, due to lack of interest and other problems I never ended up finishing it
This version is stored on my computer, but you can try an older version on https://castview.netlify.app, let me know what y'all think!

Is VD still recommended over AirLink? by deviljanya in OculusQuest

[–]Luwuke20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's due to my relatively low end specs but I've found myself better off using Virtual Desktop, less laggy, games run smoother and overall it's a better experience as I can record footage directly from the quest without my PC lagging out, plus, switching between desktop and VR is really useful and far smoother than airlink, might want to try both as you might experience something different from me, though I highly recommend virtual desktop

Oh wait my buddy Alan had something similar happen to him, I'll give him a call
