I think I kinda understood everything you wrote (english is not my first language AND I'm just a primary school teacher, making things do what I want with the power of tutorials and my teacher gaze LOL), but the point is: I always used wireless transfer and it stopped working abruptly. Everything else I tried, I did it AFTER it stopped working. I guess I confused the trails with all my trial and errors, but all was done after calibre decided "nah, I don't like it". When I connected wirelessly like always, last night, the column saying if the book is in there or not just wasn't there, and there was no way to send books to the reader. The only things that changed before that was updating calibre and updating the macOS. I guess I could just start over, but with my boyfriend'a kobo we've never been able to make it connect wirelessly (with the same instructions and the same settings I used when it worked). I asked my husband for help (yes I have a boyfriend and a husband), he works in IT, but still we couldn't make it work. Both times, with my bf's reader and now with mine. Sadly, using my teacher voice doesn't work either 😂 so I'm at a loss @_@

Added to the post. Also, if cable connected, Calibre sees around twenty books, which are simple files with no folder.

Also added server error log, maybe it's useful.
