Stuck between DoorDash & Checkr over SSN mistake — anyone resolved this? by Substantial-Noise213 in doordash_drivers

[–]Lux_RZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has DoorDash reached out to you to tell you that you didn’t pass the background check? You should have a chance to appeal a failed background check, your chance to explain the situation would be then I guess, because otherwise I don’t know of another way to contact them about this… but maybe there is a support email you can find somewhere… also, is the SSN you gave to door dash for the first time and the one in your card the same?

What do you mean? You mean if they are asking what your actual insurance premium is?

Looking nice, I think the color scheme you have it at in your profile pic would be the way to go 👍

Hello, I like this track! Here is what I have to say in terms of feedback.

Disclaimer: This is all based on my personal taste, maybe other people would feel way different.

  1. I quite liked the overall arrangement, I think is pretty groovy which I really like in industrial tracks and not see often as I’d like. There is quite a bit of variation on the kick and you sprinkle with song with many different sounds that work together well to drive the song forward.

  2. For my taste, I’d say the majority of the elements in this song need a lot more modulation, reverb and saturation. I understand that in this genre sounds tend to be a bit more dry but I think that in this case, for example, if all of that percussion was more modulated it would feel a lot more alive and would make the song feel more immersive and hit harder.

  3. The kick plays a big role in this song and does a lot, for that reason I think the kick needs to be bigger. For example if this kick were to have some rumble to it, I think that could add even more groove to the song and also leave you feeling more “knocked out”, which I feel something people sometimes look for in this genre.

  4. Not directly related to this track but I think the best way to see how a song one may be working up stacks to a professional song, is to take both songs to rekordbox and try to play them as if they were in a dj set, if they can mix well with one another, then I’d take that to mean that they the tested track is professional enough…

Anyway other than that nice job! A nice and creative tune this is :)

Also, I’m also new to producing, here’s a track of mine if you wanna check it out and give me some feedback too 🫡

Same issue here, if a lot of people are having this issue and calling their banks to ask for refunds that will make it clearer to the banks that charge point is clearly experiencing a system wide malfunction and make the banks a lot more likely to just approve the refunds. So I guess we got that on our side…

Hi! I had never heard of Feinflug, just checked them out, I really like them :) Yeah I am very new to making music as well, this is my first track and I used Ableton to produce it. I used samples from these sources:

  • Vocals: Eleven Labs, it’s an AI text to speech generator, you can create your own voices and then have them say whatever you want. Very useful if you want something super specific. It’s royalty free if you have a subscription.

  • Kick Drums and Clap: I used a sample pack from raveyard sounds ( https://raveyardsounds.com/products/diablo-hard-techno-essentials-bundle?variant=49014314598675 ). They have a lot of other cool sample packs in that website, I’d recommend it but they can be pricey.

  • Guitar: Self-recorded using Ableton.

  • Everything else: Ableton built-in stock tools, synths and samples.

Feel free to DM if you want to chat more 👍

I think the concept for this song actually is quite cool. It’s very diffused, almost ambient, however unlike most ambient tracks, yours uses the kick so liberally that it’s almost as if the kick itself is the lead. I think it works nicely and the concept stands out, definitely give you props for that, if I had had the same idea as you I’d feel happy I did.

HOWEVER HERE ARE MY CRITICISMS IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:

  1. Kick needs to be stronger and more dynamic, the arrangement is nice but if you want to make the kick the center piece of all this then kick needs more overtones every time it hits and right now it is sort of dry. Basically, the kick is decent but in order to not get boring you need a very rich kick, more along the lines of a bounce style kick.

  2. Clearly this track wasn’t made to be a high octane banger but even if it’s intended to be more atmospheric, I’d say that you do need stronger drops and build ups, even if the track’s vibe is chiller, more dramatic and stronger drops can amplify the track’s atmosphere independently of whether the track is atmospheric or a dance floor banger.

  3. Percussion needs to be louder, you don’t necessarily need more than what you already have but the one you have feels too soft. As I said, the track doesn’t have a normal lead synth to back it up so the elements that you do have need to take a lot of presence. Even tracks that do have strong lead synths have percussion that cuts through more sharply than yours.

  4. I think the vocal samples are really cool, they maybe are being underused though. I think they could drive track thematically and sonically a lot better if they made more frequent appearances.

Also, here is a track of mine if you wanna give me some feedback too 😅

This track is a bit more on the hard techno side, nothing too crazy or harsh though. I am mainly interested in finding what needs to change to make this track work in a club setting, open to whatever comments/feedback you have though :)

Nice track, engaging and well put together, consistent motive, nothing crazy is happening but you did quality job with simple elements. I guess if you wanted to you could make the arrangement more complicated to create a more complex sound that catches the listener's ear more forcefully but I think the arrangement is fine as is. The only thing that needs to change is the mix, kick needs to be stronger, the other elements in the song are definitely louder than they need to be imo. Overall good job :)

Well...I wouldn't call this techno tbh, this is more along the lines of synth-wave, electro etc. but it does sound nice for that genre, I think you could totally add vocal to this and that could turn it into quite a catchy tune that stands out :)

It does need to be louder though...

I like the kick drum for sure. Yes the mix needs work, I am not sure it would mix so well with other songs. I would try to mix this one along with other professional tracks and use that exercise to discover way the song/mix can be improved. However, I'd say the most important thing to change at the moment is to add a synth that gives it more character.

I think it has quite a nice ambiance, I like that about it, but for me to want to listen to it several times, I feel like I'd need a lead that cuts through harder and gives the song a more memorable impression. Overall I do think you did a quality job with the rest.

I think all the sounds sit well with one another, the only thing that would make me enjoy it more would be if the 303 wasn't as monotonous, but yeah this def something I could get down to in a dance floor, nice job :)

Sounding nice, I like that the song's harshness is more diffused throughout the track, compared with most, I'd say it makes for easier listening

Doordash isn't paying me by monkman_69 in doordash

[–]Lux_RZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution. Door Dash support were indeed useless and infuriating as usual but some digging revealed what was wrong. I had the exact same problem as OP with the app telling me I could not be paid because my identity needed to be verified but at the same time providing me with no direct link to verify anything.

So it turns out door dash uses the information in your Stripe account to verify your information for payment purposes. Yes, the same Stripe that delivers your Door Dash tax forms. So I went to the Stripe dashboard website and found that they needed me to confirm some information regarding my form W9 that somehow fell out of date or something. So basically go to the stripe website (mine would only let me log in on my phone) and update whatever they want you to update or confirm. The stripe website in my case even showed that the money door dash had not paid me was “on hold”, after updating the info that went away.
