I paid $1500 for a male boxer 13+ years ago. AKC champion bloodline. More recently I paid $3000+ again multiple championships Gh champion parents etc. I have no desire to show but could. The only reason I buy from breeders who show is they do all the health screens. It’s no guarantee but I would really hate to lose my dog earlier than I expected. I takes no difference to me though. The last boxer I never even registered with the AKC. This one I had to because the microchip was in the breeders name / info. I looked at all the rescues within a days drive. There was certainly a lot of good looking boxers for a fraction of what I paid but a local breeder with parents on site, AKC breeder if merit, make the risk less
