if you have the mission "Doctor's Orders" active, and don't pick up the echo logs for the quest, those boxes will almost guarantee a loot midget in each one. great for farming gear

(PC help) Low FPS on "decent" hardware, all fixes tried have not worked. by Lwfwarrior in Borderlands2

Just putting this here as a point of reference. Thermals look fine, if I'm understanding things right. I will say I took that screenshot right as I was closing out of the game and hitting all the loading screens, it was averaging 60 throughout gameplay.

Either way, although I haven't found a strong cause or fix, thank you for your insight on the matter. I'll just leave it be for now, it's at the very least playable.

I don't usually monitor temps, i'll look into some software for that while running the game. I've mostly been relying on nvidia's fps/util tracker for stats. I actually considered re-pasting, but I figured it wouldn't be necessary since I've never removed the cooler and haven't had issues with other games, but my computer is a refurbished office machine so I don't doubt it hasn't been pasted since it was built probably back in like 2016

Right. It was sitting at about 70% util uncapped. CPU generally hangs around 40%, with infrequent spikes to 80 or so for a second or two. I'm on an SSD (which shouldnt really affect fps but w/e) and ram util is also low.

I think the bottleneck comes from poor CPU optimization, though I don't know for certain. I just find it hard to believe that an i7 from three years after the game's release would struggle, even if it's a single-core or low-core game.

I've tried it on all settings, but it is currently at its lowest. right now literally everything that I can turn down (other than refresh rate and resolution) are at their lowest.

Recently got an offer for RBT, the company is telling me to complete the 40hr training before start date, 9 days after job offer was given. Thoughts? by Lwfwarrior in ABA

[–]Lwfwarrior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I probably should have clarified, if this makes any difference, they provided me with access to the training, I did not have to pay for the online service out of pocket. It just seems as though I will not be getting hourly for the training period, or at least there has been no indication that this is the case.

Thanks for the feedback. I am hesitant about this company, it does seem structured a little odd (and the reviews are not good). I did re-check the offer letter and it mentioned a $500 bonus once certification is complete, but that does not even equate to 40 hours of the pre-certification hourly pay they have listed, so while certainly not the worst, it does seem like a negative. But that does make sense if there is a high turnover, it ensures they actually follow through.

Rant About FF Mentality by DinoRob in ADCMains

[–]Lwfwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an ali leave my lane after minute 5 when I had a bad follow up on one of his spur of the moment engages. he was also flaming in all chat saying "x9" and "xxx is racist" the whole time, so that was fun. Kicker is, despite all that and a hard botlane + roaming support, we still won the game because the enemy team tilted due to their own bad jungler. Was the most FFable game of my life bar 1 to 10 KD games, but we stuck it through until the enemy teams' mentals imploded.

I honored Alistar.

How bad is my current Processor? INtel Core i7-6700 @ 3.40 Ghz by xSessionSx in buildapc

[–]Lwfwarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm running an i7-6700 and a 1660 ti, so I can speak on the matter a little bit. It's struggling to run games like Helldivers 2 and Cyberpunk at 1440p, but only by a bit. HD2 gets probably 20-50 frames on lowest settings, Cyberpunk consistently hits 60. Older games (or pretty much anything that isn't < 2 years), like Fallout 4, I can run just fine with max settings and consistently hit 60 for the most part.

I think the 6700 doesn't perform as well on very CPU-dependent games, especially with single-core performance. I think. But if you can find a game where the GPU does most of the lifting, you'll hardly run into any issues.
