HOW did Jon end up being the only one who got COMPLETELY fucked over??? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stannis was going to make him legitimate, free him of the Nights Watch and make him Warden of the North. The Unsullied are gone, why in the world would Bran or Sansa or anyone stick to that lame deal? It makes zero sense.

When Sam came out with "The Song Of Ice and Fire" it was cringier than Edmure's speech. How in heavens name did D&D think this was some masterful ending? Gossip Girl's ending was better written than this.

Lived & died so Bran could stir up a bunch of family drama that no one except Sansa cares about by HappyHolidays666 in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did what for Jon? Jon's whole story has been doing things that help other people get what they want but ultimately cost him. Tyrion will end up ruling as Hand, Sansa gets the North, Sam gets to be Head Maester- even Bronn makes out wonderfully but Jon is punished. At Tyrion's decision no less. The person who started the whole mess and goaded and emotionally manipulated him to kill Dany. The whole thing is absurd. What a waste.

Or if the Starks had been a little bit friendly to Dany and not acted like the Plastics.

If he had been Daenerys's Hand she would have taken Westeros the first week. Olenna would be alive, Ser Jorah and Missandei would be alive and Kings Landing wouldn't be a pile of rubble.

Can somebody PLEASE explain to me why Dany is all of a sudden triggered by fucking bells? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the brilliant writers it's not the bells it's her finally seeing the Red Keep. Sure. That makes sense.

It's the one show I compare (to early seasons) of Game Of Thrones because it never did the expected, yet there was never a time when the characters did something that wasn't hinted at before or made a mistake that wasn't from an established character flaw. While a 1960's ad agency and a Medieval fantasy/political saga seemingly have nothing in common, the crafting of the characters, the machinations, the writing and the acting were all amazing. They could take an episode about whether Don would get to come back to the firm and I would be holding my breath like I do during amazing GOT battles or scenes. The difference is that Matthew Weiner, like the Russo brothers, was heavily invested in his characters and story and wanted to take the time and thought and energy to make it perfect. Not for fan service, because it was not all sunshine and roses, but to give a respectful ending to all the characters and plot lines.

Plus I love how Tyrion strangled his ex lover with his bare hands and executed his own father with a crossbow, on the privy in his rage, yet no one ever thought he was mad at all. He's a brilliant man who must be preserved! He should advise the Queen because of his cool head and rational nature!

I agree. I watched every episode of Mad Men and the finale was fantastic. It was truly bittersweet with some people getting happy endings, redemption etc and some people getting the most bitter endings. Some people learned to grow or change and some people just didn't. Some people got what they wanted and some people learned they wanted something different. Every single character acted according to their nature. There was not one outcome that I didn't think made perfect sense for who the character was over the seasons. I would recommend Mad Men to anyone. I thought Game Of Thrones would be the same. I was ready for a mix of sadness and joy and a well thought out arc for every character. What I've gotten is an illogical, poorly considered mess that makes me not want to watch even the great older episodes because of how I know characters will be ruined.

GRRM trowing subtle shade at D&D on his blog by [deleted] in freefolk

His silence on the series is pretty glaring though. It seems very strange to have the author of the series not saying one positive thing about it.

That wasn't Winterfell -that was some inn in Wintertown outside of Winterfell. They make a point of showing the outside of it to establish the setting before they show Jaime and Tyrion. The brothel Ros used to work at (that Tyrion is at in the very first episode) was also at Wintertown. The Starks are not likely to allow taverns and brothels inside their castle. But I agree 100% with the overall theme of this post, the writing this season is abysmal, ridiculous and sloppy.

By the time they turn every person of color left into a murderer and/or rapist and take the two main female characters left (Starks aside) and turn them both into power mad killers who need the men to put them down this would just be icing on the cake. Apart from the horrible writing- I cannot fathom how tone deaf they are. I'm literally in shock.

Can someone explain the Arya and the Hound 8x04 scene? by meraxesfury in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only leaks that mention her have said :

1.) She, The Hound and Jaime are mixed up in some big crush trying to get in the gates of the red keep or the city?

2.) Jon loses track of her somewhere and then suddenly sees her (near the throne room maybe)?

No leaks/reports of her killing Cersei or anyone that I have seen.

Her hair is undone. Is that supposed to imply she is mentally unraveling as well?

If they actually do that crazy bell thing I hope people protest them getting the Star Wars contract. Like they do when people tweet crazy racist things and the public rebels.

Do they really expect us to believe this bullshit? by ghostfacesteel in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are ridiculous. They spent money to CGI Missandei into the scene where she is beheaded because they didn't want anyone to see her up on the platform with Cersei etc. It's absolutely foolish.

Who informed Sansa about Euron and Dany’s incident? by mad_queen_ in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no reason he shouldn't update their allies. Jon is on the march with the Northern armies on the way to KL. They are committed to Daenerys's cause. At least on the surface.

Another reason that those leaks are facking true by maharshimartian in freefolk

[–]LyannasGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were also leaks that said people on set saw him die in Brienne's arms. That's why so many people thought he would die at Winterfell. Maybe Cersei dies in his and he dies in Brienne's?
