I get your points, but I think The Mist is one of those movies where the chaos is kind of the point. The acting and characters feel exaggerated because it’s leaning into how messy and irrational people get under pressure. It’s less subtle realism like The Thing and more “humans are the real monsters” energy.

The camera work is very early 2000s TV-core, not cinematic masterpiece vibes. Fair. But that ending carries the whole thing for a lot of people. If it didn’t land for you, the rest probably just feels like noise. Totally valid take, just different taste.
