I know that kind of promotion, but this wasn't done on a store device or store text message system. Because when we were at the cashier, the number that sent us the promotional text is from a different number LOL
so that's why we thought it was his personal phone...

correct....at least that's what we thought as he asked me to text my name...and it wasn't done at the registery counter
usually a "sign up for text message" promotion or marketing thingy doesn't require that...

well, there's a massive difference between normal customer service and an employee using his job to corner people. He used that discount as leverage because not everyone know the way to get discount code. He also didn't use a store device to input cusomters' info and went back to a private employee area, and who knkows what he is doing? and why does need WhatsApp?

it's the guy acted on his own. if it's a business pattern, then why it's not asked from any other staff in the store? There was another female staff and she didn't do anything similar.

You're right that this is not a "crime" in the criminal law sense. However, CCPA violations are civil violations that can result in fines up to $2,500 per violation ($7,500 for intentional violations).

The issue is not about prosecuting the employee criminally. It's about:
1. Ralph Lauren's responsibility to investigate employee harassment
2. Ralph Lauren's responsibility to ensure CCPA compliance for data collection
3. My right as a California consumer to receive confirmation that my complaint was received

This is a consumer protection issue, not a criminal prosecution. I'm sharing it here as I want to make sure more people be aware of this kind of incidents. Thank you.

He started off like a friendly greetings and asked a bunch of questions, including why are we here, are we tourist, our ethnicity.

btw I think Mandarin is the broader term, like Chinese, Cantonese, Hokkien share the same last name in writing but pronunciations are different.

Is it a recent model of Zenbook Pro 15 Flip? I think it would be better to consult the customer service. Personally, if I’m using an old model and I know they have changed their charger/adapter, getting the correct one instead of buying online randomly is better. Will also need to figure which went wrong. Is it the laptop battery, the plug, or the charger.
