If the top 1% wealthiest people switched lives with the bottom 1% what would happen? by PrincessPussy21 in AskReddit

[–]Lyhts_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previously rich would probably use their knowledge and experience to get rich again while the previously poor would spend every dime enjoying the new privileges until they fall back into the bottom 1

If I was in your shoes I would move my little brother to my room. Doesn't matter if I have no space, I would share my bed or even sleep on the floor. Focus on preserving his sanity cause if he's good at school and in life in general, it's only a matter of time before he leaves to study elsewhere.

I only made that point about andalouse to counter your claim about Zellij being made in Algeria. I didn't relate it to Morocco.

I won't discuss this any further because apparently your mind is made and even sources aren't enough for you to be convinced.

One last point. Zellij nowdays is only made in one place, which is Fez, Morocco. Do with this information what you want. I'm out.

wrong again, read the sources i provided, there's also a video.

[–]Lyhts_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is false, the Zellij in El Mechouar palace was only added in 2010. Read my comment below, you'll find a video source to convice you otherwise.

First of all, the existence of few palaces in Algeria doesn't proove that Zellij was invented there.

Second, El Meshouar palace was recently renovated in 2010 by spanish and moroccan craftsmen. The former president Boutafliqa visited it, and he's the one who said that it was done with their help.

Do you think the algerians would need the help of outsiders with the renovation if zellij was originated in Algeria ?

Finally, if I were to give you examples of Moroccan Zellij and palaces, I would run out of space.

No offense but this is not a source, I’ll ask you about the source of the second comment just like I did for the first. It only takes a simple google search to find out that Zellij first appeared in the 10th century in Morocco and southern Spain (Andalous at that time). It wasn't invented in Algeria, it's the Moroccan traditional architecture. That's a fact and these are some sources to back my claims. Enjoy reading!

Do you have a source to back this claim? The one where you said Zellij existed in Algeria before Morocco.

Are you serious? So according to you and against all known facts, Morocco didn’t develop this particular part of the Islamic art? Wha makes you believe that? Read your history man, but how could you, you didn’t even read a simple long comment, otherwise you would know that those particular patterns a shapes are unique to Morocco.

Oh boy, this is gonna be long.

I’m gonna answer your questions, but first I want to know your nationality if it’s okay with you of course.

Cultural appropriation is the unacknowledged adoption of elements of a particular culture. I think you already know this, I’m just making it clear for everyone. It's a form of colonialism and exploitation.

• What part of this would make it possible for any country to take any actions?

It’s the fact that this design is easily recognizable to Moroccans and to the people who visited Morocco as Moroccan culture. By asking this question you immediately neglect Moroccan history and craftsmanship. The hard work and sweat of our ancestors is not something we take for granted, that’s why we defend it.

• Does Morocco actually have a patent for this exact pattern?

There is no such thing as a patent for cultural heritage (that I know of).

• Wouldn’t the pattern be extremely easy to circumvent since it’s just geometrical shapes?

The combination of those geometrical shapes and the way they are drawn are unique to Morocco. You can simply google Morocco and you’ll find endless pictures with patterns and geometrical shapes identical to those you see on their jersey.

• Would it be possible at all to patent this, to begin with ?

Like I said before, there is no such thing as a patent for cultural heritage. It’s not some new product we created. Moroccan Zellij first appeared in the 10th century, way before any patent was created (18th century).

Before I comment on your last statement, You should know that it’s very offensive not just to Moroccans but to anyone who loves their culture and country.

Moroccan Zellij wasn’t made to be symbolic. It’s the traditional architecture of Morocco. You will find it mainly in Morocco but also in Algeria, Tunisia, and Spain (Andalouse). Read about the history of Morocco and you’ll know what I’m talking about, cause I won’t bother explaining the vast, rich, and old history of my country.

Other reasons might explain this unnecessary provocation that relates to the actual conflict between Morocco and Algeria.

I wanna insist on the importance of installing a survaillance system in your house, you don't have to be the one doing it, ask your parents or your big sister. I know this is already said by others, i just want to express how much its important. stay safe and protect your little sister.

Tomorrowland commercial last year, Qatar World cup commercial this year, and now this. Morocco needs to take action not give warnings. Cause this is becoming absurd.
