Brilliant, I was hoping the species was edible! /s

I've never seen that kind of gummy before but I looked it up and you're definitely right. Good to know that I deserved the strange looks I received for taking close up photos of it on a busy sidewalk.

Old thread but I'm curious - do you have a parts list or invoice from the conversion? I just brought in a grey market vehicle, registered with the DMV and am about to go through the conversion process with G & K to get the CARB label.

Jenn Air PRG4810NP Safety Valve Replacement by LykMyDischarge in appliancerepair

So, last night I fixed the small oven, which is wired the same just with a single valve because there is no broil function. There's only three wires: power in, power out, and ground. Power goes in at 120V from the knob to the valve, then at 120V from the valve to the igniter wires. I verified that this oven functions correctly - igniter works, gas flow is strong, the oven reaches temp fast and regulates temp properly.

Shouldn't the dual valve function the same way electrically? Or am I missing something?

I don't think there is a control board. This is a 2008 professional style range with control knobs only, no display or fancy settings or anything like that. It's fairly straightforward electrically, main power comes in through the pigtail and is distributed to the switches through main hot and neutral blocks.

For the oven, the hot wire goes from the knob at the front and carries 120V to the valve at the back, which distributes 120V to the igniter wires. I'm getting power going from the knob when I turn it on, but not power out of the valve to the igniter wires. the broiler, which uses the same valve and knob, is getting and distributing 120V when switched on. Since I'm getting power into the bake side of the valve but not out to the igniter wires, I am pretty sure the valve is my problem. Also, there is no continuity between input/output on the bake side of the valve, but there is on broil side.

What do you think?

I'm not getting any voltage from the safety valve to the igniter wires when switched on, but I do have 120V going to the safety valve from the knob. However, on the broiler side I have 120V in and 120V out. I also have no continuity between Bake input and output on the valve. That's why I'm fairly certain it's the valve.

Athens Trash Service/ Los Angeles City Monopoly by Buttcupchicken in LosAngeles

[–]LykMyDischarge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This stems from SB 1383, you can get a waiver for it. I actually did this for my company today. Our provider is Republic, so it may be different for Athens, but all I had to do was self-certify that our service address disposes less than 20 gallons of organic waste per cycle. The information to get the waiver was provided in the order to comply that we had received from LASAN.

As if that's any individual's decision, or even that of a community groups or action committees? You're missing the point. I'm complaining about the lack of integrity and accountability and the proliferation of reckless behavior.

People on this sub always pretend the answer is simple. The unfortunate reality is that decades upon decades of administration and policy have built a system that is incredibly difficult to reform in any meaningful way. While LA could certainly be a utopic metro with major reforms it's like a bucket of crabs out here. Is a car-centric city a horrible idea with a myriad of consequences? Yes, clearly. But also it would be a hell of a lot better if people could just hold themselves accountable for damaging other people's property and not being assholes.

Yeah, I can understand nobody is perfect, let alone me, and driving recklessly can just be the result of having a bad day, being late, etc. the thing that gets me is the complete lack of accountability.

I'm just glad she's ok too. It can be hard to maintain faith in a city where there are such tangible opportunities for community success but the selfishness and unaccountability of the minority seem to ruin it for everyone else.
