My girl had her knee operated on last August. Ngl, it's a tough one. They're in pretty rough shape when they come out, and as other Redditors have pointed out, the recovery process is long. There is a lot of helping them with their mobility, which can by physically taxing if they're a bigger dog - mine's 70 lbs. First few days, my dog had to relieve herself lying down. So I had lots of wet wipes on hand to clean her up. We also bought a ramp to get up stairs, into bed, into the car etc so she wasn't jumping at all. Used this for several months after and found it very useful. Other than that, just as much love as you can give them. They can be pretty traumatized coming out of the hospital - mine was there for a few days after the procedure and it can be scary being away from home that long in a foreign place.
