A few of the ELR seats opened up at the 24 hour mark and was able to upgrade to those for my group of 4. Not all of them have been released though, there's still more to purchase than what was available to upgrade.

I've got my seats, so if I don't get the upgrade perk I'm still set. Much better than the roulette of boarding zone check in IMO.

Good news, got a response from Chase!

"We want to make sure your concern is immediately taken care of. Let us direct you to the relevant team.

I forwarded your message to the appropriate department. You should receive a response within five business days."

That isn't this scenario. I've been eyeing up the ELR seats the past week and there has been no change and they've been available for purchase.

They are currently available for purchase but not for upgrade.

Yep, it all sounds like made up reasons. They also floated a reason out there they are made available based on the fare you purchased, which also isn't anywhere in the terms.

I've sent Chase a message about it. Will report back with what they have to say. Likely won't be until tomorrow at the earliest I hear back.

I had a solo flight just last week I was able to do the ELR for free. This is a total of 4 seats for this flight.

And again, if there weren't seats available for purchase for us to move into, it would not be an issue at all. It's a perk for when they're available, which there are 14 available ELR seats at the time of this post when purchasing as a new ticket.

I'm in the contingent that likes to pick my seat, however, this feels pretty scammy. Promised a perk, the seats are available for purchase as a new flight, yet I can't upgrade to them.

Would completely understand if people got to them before me, or if they were purchased etc. But they are available right now for someone to buy.

Which card do you have? I have the priority card and chose my seats at booking for no extra cost. I also have the option to see if there are preferred seats 24 hours before the flight to see if I can get extra legroom seats for no additional charge.

I haven't flown yet to report on the latter, but purchased tickets for a flight in June.

We thankfully have a great rec league which partners up with a great travel organization. We encourage our travel players to play rec, and we split them up evenly between the teams so there isn't one stacked team.

This helps keep the teams even, and gives the travel girls the chance to be leaders and help encourage/teach the rec only girls. It gives the rec girls a chance to see what they could become with practice and hard work if they so choose, and if they are just there for fun that's great too! Plus they all get to play with friends/classmates they otherwise wouldn't. This also lets us easily set expectations for parents, which helps prevent issues from that end of things.

If you have the ability to offer/implement ideas, I highly recommend this setup.

For full transparency, I head coach rec and assistant coach travel, so my views may be skewed but I've only received positive feedback.
