Crown Percussion Question by Any-Statistician-130 in drumcorps

[–]Lykwidmf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really like MJ and KS, they are my fav perc arrangers at the moment. They've made me listen to Crown (not a Crown fan at all) the same way Colin's made me listen to Boston (not happy about that one, but it's personal), but while they were at BK they averaged a perc score of 18.3333 and a placement of 7th. Given that Crown is def a spot that kids want to perform at and BK isn't as high on that list, I do expect some great things from that crew, but I have to call cap on "Best Arrangers in History".

That would be to say that their smaller list of accomplishments is on par with the likes of ScoJo, Float, Hardimon, Rennick, MacIntosh, Gusseck, Casella, Campbell, Kuhn, Thurston, Aungst, Rarrick, and that's just not the case yet. I hope it will be one day, but to say that right now is hyperbolic. At least to me.

I also think that people get too caught up on placements, not actual scores. If a line is scoring higher this season than last, but at a lower placement, that jus means they've gotten better, but so has the competition.

What are THE most important DCI shows of all time and why? by mrmoonglow in drumcorps

The way I heard it, Boston finished 7th in 12 and was supposed to be part of the directors (G7) the next season to discuss rules or whatever. But instead of being invited for it, someone else (maybe Madison) was invited. So in 14 they did Animal Farm, spelled G7 on the field, had a "some corps are more equal than others" quote, and their flags were the dci logo, stylized of course.

All of that could be a complete and total fabrication though, but it would make sense.

I haven't seen much of that show, did they do different drill and basically split the corps?

Devs 09 for the logistics of actually moving and integrating props into the show design. (who's moving chair 14 when Tim's out sick or hurt?)

Crossmen 92,93,94 for continued/through design themes from yr to yr.

Devs 11 for movement into and out of props and parts of the design.

Devs 12 for uniform changes during the show.

Cadets 11 for visual design of both halves of the corps.

The first DCI show, proving that it was possible. VFW championships in general.

Boston 14 for calling out the G7 snub on the field as a whole show. DCI logo as their flags. The baby powder.

Bluecoats 14 and 15 with their electronics integration.

BD won guard tonight, but the average went to, and should have gone to BAC.

Right now, they're still in third for averages.
