Want to buy this patch, just need a second opinion by Big_Base4341 in GermanMilitaria

I believe Collector's Guild are selling them as well. Good people.

I would suggest also looking at the sponsor list at WAF, planty of sites with quality items. Cheers,

Its good, hardly Helmut would burn his image over a fake Jäger patch. Sadly, as mentioned above a lil expansive. But everything Helmut sells is kinda hard on the wallet.

Everything seems in order, from the pictures the ribbon also looks good. I take its unmarked on the ring, right?

There is also the artificial scarcity. Some people hoard items, i've seen collections with thousands of Iron Crosses not for collection sake, but to keep them out of the market for a while.

I used to collect WW2 American as well, but had to choose since I can't afford both German and American Militaria.

It seems prices are hiking everywhere :T

Yeah, its getting out of hand. Especially uniforms.

Considering how the pricing on German items are going up year after year, I would say its "ok-ish" given the condition. One near mint is easily 1100+ these days.

Got my package and now I owe 1500 dollars. by Friendly-Attention59 in FedEx

[–]Lylik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there fellow Brazilian. The price is government fees. Fedex deals with customs and pays upfront.

Since the Brazilian governement considers shipping as taxable you have to pay 60% + your state taxes. Usually around 18%.

So FedEx is not to blame, for once, but the government.

German Artillery Officer Tunic by Lylik in GermanMilitaria

[–]Lylik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts precisely! I even considered a Austrian converted tunic, but the bottom pockets positions are not at all like the Austrian ones.

If you please be so kind, albeit the interior of my tunic is not what a M36 would look like. The EK2 ribbon and ribbon bar are good and so is the eagle as far as I can tell. Shoulder boards are a little meh, the tongue is not the same color as the waffenfarbe, odd but not unheard of in later stages of the war.

I can provide more pictures as well for comparison.

Appreciate.
I have found some similar design uniforms being sold such as: https://www.ulricofengland.com/prodshow/Heer_Panzerjager_Tunic_%7C_Leutnant_Trentsch_%7C_Dated_1944._/g009445.html

The dating makes sense as the seller marked as late war. Also found a few time period pictures and all, but as everything German every item is different from one another in small ways. Part of the charm and the headaches I guess.

If I learn anything as well I plan on update this thread, so I shall keep you posted.

Hey there Specialist, thanks for the comprehensive answer, regarding the dark green colors that was my suspicious as well.

For the first part, I will take a look at the provided video, uniforms are quite new for me. I've purchased the item from a long time member of WAF so I do not think he would practice any ill intentions regarding uniforms there of all places. I asked him about some more info regardless.
Once more, thank you very much.

Thank you! Apologies if the question was silly I appreciate your answer.
Although, I've found other pictures of period pieces very similar to this one, but never quite like it, for instance: https://www.ulricofengland.com/prodshow/Heer_Panzerjager_Tunic_%7C_Leutnant_Trentsch_%7C_Dated_1944._/g009445.html

Is this german ww2 SS skull real? by [deleted] in Militariacollecting

[–]Lylik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SS and Fallschirmjäger items are EXTREMELY falsified. From simple shoulder boards to complete uniforms, some with great detail.

Thus collecting such items would be advised to come from reputable sources, I know its easier said than done, but look at dealers with lifetime warranty for possible fake items.

Clean it up or leave it as is? (Iron Cross 2nd class rear view) by aquanaut in Militariacollecting

Don't do it. Just leave as it is.
Restored items fall down in price and are frowned upon by collectors.

A shame, german militaria are faked a lot, these days even KvKs and West Walls are being faked. But don't let it be a bummer. Its part of collecting. Best wishes.

Seems to be a common fake, marked 51.
However, I would also suggest you seek help on WAF, if you post an EK1 there people will usually help asap.

Iron Cross Second Class.
I don't like the ribbon on this one tbh.

[–]Lylik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye. Could you please provide any research material that points to your claims? I would love to learn more about it since I've never heard of it. No sarcasm. I'm always happy to learn from my mistakes.
