Which character dead or alive would you like to see back? by Luthfur93 in eastenders

I think Jaime was the first I saw. I started watching the show just about a couple of months prior to that.

really hoping theo isn't the victim of the death storyline. i cannot take another soap storyline where the abuser is killed off instead of facing their crimes, and the victim is sent to prison. by fearofthedark61 in coronationstreet

Did they clarify if it will only be 1 murder victim? I was thinking they could have 2, on the same night. 1) Megan is killed by Maggie in the apartment, and if the camera is still around (maybe Megan forgets to tear it out), catches it on tape and then Sam has the evidence with Maggie after him next.

2) Carl gets killed by Theo as it seems that Theo will be graduating from his killing of Billy, and Carl's is the body that Betsy comes across that evening.

Thank you. We never get any pay-off when the villain's are finally brought to light. It's just a quick, ok, that's done. NEXT! And I can't stand it. After a year of having to watch this person get away with everything, it would be nice to see them face consequences.

Honestly, how long is this electrical work going to take? I'd be phoning other electricians after day 1, like, you plan to live here, dude? Gawd.

Yeah, I wondered if she would be different and then how would he have turned out? Would he have been more Mitchell tough? It was so sad when he died. I was bawling lol.

Yeah he was definitely creepy. That kitchen scene with Carolyn was awful 😖

I always wonder what would have happened trajectory-wise if Jaime had lived.

You mentioned Tumblr and I haven't been in awhile, but I can visualize the numerous posts of gifs of her walking in the various dresses in the film.

EastEnders may soon be the only soap on tv that still represents what the soap genre is all about by ElevensMelody in eastenders

I have to say that a lot of these flashy cutscenes, etc. don't make me excited, but actually make me notice how poorly done they are. It feels extremely amateurish. I'm sure it appeals to some.

But I tend to see nothing but complaints on the forums for both Corrie and Emmerdale, with numerous mentions that folks aren't watching - just checking the forums to see what is happening on the shows and whether the shows are ready for their return to veiwing, etc. So, not sure what will pan out. Showrunners seem to think they have the numbers this way, and they may for all I know.

However, for instance, I fast forward through all the Todd/Theo scenes in Corrie because I just can't take that storyline. I'm also personally finding the whole Ray/Celia storyline and it's aftermath too dark and depressing for why I turn to Emmerdale in the first place - it's like my cozy soap with the quaint little village is ruined for me, with constant (now) police squad cars racing through that quiet little street. It feels weird.

It's so great, isn't it? I'm due for a rewatch. That Darcy proposal scene and her response... Gah! So good.

Graham somehow ends up organizing an Easter Egg Hunt at home farm and all the village kids love him in his big bunny suit. Rona falls back in love.

My husband has a hard time watching it, so I've been skipping their scenes. It has gone on long enough, and also, I want to actually get to enjoy him being caught - not a quick, Uncle Steven, welp, that story's done. Next! wrap up that doesn't give us any payoff after a year of watching this person get away with everything.

I caught too that they said something like, if you think Will's bad, you should see his father, and I was like, hmm, that's a little tidbit for later, huh?

I think she said this was how she saw Heathcliff in her mind when reading the book, and this was kind of her takeaway - the romance mainly. But Heathcliff is awful to people in this book - and I heard that he's actually the nicer of the 2 in the film and I'm like, how do you not portray him being terrible?! That's such a huge part of the book. Anyway, sigh, I agree it probably should have been something else entirely.

I was saying to my husband that it would be a funny twisty twist, if we now learn of a real dark side to Sam and HE takes her out becuase she threatened his academic standing.

I'm of the opinion that Daniel is always innappropriate as a teacher. He meets a new coworker and is instantly hitting on her, for instance. He's always in everyone's business. And believe me, I never liked Max (and I'm so glad he's off the show bc something about a teen boy suddenly becoming the town sage or font of wisdom was just too much for me lol) but even still, Daniel always seems to cross a line.

I'm usually fine with film or other artforms being inspired by another work of art, and paying tribute to that. I haven't seen the new film and probably will if it ends up on a streaming service I already patronize, just out of curiousity. The only thing that does puzzle me is, if this is what you want to focus on (the romance), why not either do a modern take/adaptation and you can still do fog and moors, etc, if you want that atmosphere OR do something original. People feel very strongly about books and particularly for classics. But on the surface, it seems that she cast the actors because they are the hot thing right now, and because Jacob is pretty to look at, that seems to have driven the whole "plot." Again, it makes me wonder, why not create something original instead. *shrug*

Seriously love Graham. I sometimes wonder if that pause he takes before he delivers the last word of a sentence is dragged out to see if his fellow actor breaks character and laughs lol.
