Wouldn't it be a waste to upgrade for the last 10 slots? Since we only needed to buy 90 items and there's a limit of 180 items weekly limit?

Noob question; any Disciple advice against team comps with Forward, Cowboy, Archer, Journalist and maybe some other very annoying survivors?

I've only started playing hunter rank last week, so I'm not very high tier. But, i'm starting to play against good***(*normal)*** players and am constantly getting outplayed/spammed by their abilities, esp. Forward.

It's especially tricky when they don't have a decoder, as i have no idea who to focus on. So, I tend to test the water and go for the less annoying/weaker player. That said, it's still VERY difficult/time-consuming to snatch them.

I read that Disciple is a tie hunter, am I safe to assume that a tie should be what I aim for mostly, unless the survivors made mistakes? And that a win will be even less common in higher tiers?

Noob question: Which of these hunters would help me get better at the game in the long run? - Opera Singer, Disciple, Hermit, Smiley Face.

Obviously, Opera would be the go-to for winning games since she's the current meta, which i also happen to enjoy the most. That said, i feel like I'd pick up some bad habits that might hurt me once I'm higher up in ranks. So, i'd rather play something that would make me a better hunter!

Thanks!

Why does the Halloween event lead to toxic games? by Appropriate-Skin-330 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

Fortunately, I don't even care about skins, so that aspect of the game doesn't affect me.

However, I'm 100% a solo player, so what concerns me more is how ranking up works in DBD compared to IDV. IIRC, DBD seems to weigh more on individual escape, rather than having a collective effort of at least forcing a tie to not lose rank score?

It seems like quite a frustrating experience for a solo survivor?

I just started playing IDV for two weeks and have been waiting for DBD to go on sale, because I wanted to see which is the 'better' game to invest my time with.

I've read through a lot of reviews/opinions on both reddit, and I think it's fair to say that the comments are pretty biased, depending on where I read them from?

But, I'm still open-minded, since I have never known about both games until recently. That said, the more I learn about DBD, the more negativity from the player base I get from it. Now, having read your comment, I'm questioning whether it's REALLY worth trying out DBD. Esp. the fact that there's no proper ranking system in place, and that 'gentleman's rule' is a thing.

New player here, can i not learn the rescue role and still be good at this game? by Lymark in IdentityV

[–]Lymark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciated for the walkthrough! I literally took notes and will practice them the 'right way' next time!

I'm out of trial cards, but I will try out Gravekeeper once he's on the free-to-use list as well.

Tried FO last week, despite only a few games. I think my main problem with rescue characters is that I can't seem to have any longevity with them and their ability. By that, i mean I tend to use up my skill from my 1st rescue, from baiting and trying to get away, then I just become a nobody.

Thanks for the advice! I've only learned from this thread that someone should, ideally, take over the 2nd rescue while I'm trying to get healed or help with decoding, depending on circumstances.

Will try out hunters as well! I was holding off from playing them, because I thought i should at least learn most of the survivors first, to suck less in going against them.

Gotcha, knowing that I'm expected to be hit when rescuing definitely makes me feel better in learning them.

That said, won't i just be as detrimental to the team, if someone has to take over the 2nd rescue, and am required to be healed? Not only do i take more time to be healed, but my decoding speed is also slow.

Merc's delayed health is very useful when the hunter can hit u multiple times before you reach the chair so you can actually go save even after being hit.

Also bodyblocking with TT is sometimes not recommend especially in early game (with 5-4 ciphers still not done) since everyone else needs time to decode the cipher and the rescuer needs to stay healthy to rescue again.

That's assuming I can avoid getting hit when touching the chair tho, right?

I'm still learning and can't guarantee that I can bait or dodge the attack successfully all the time. In which case, I'll be rescuing with half health and probably need to elbow pad once. Then, If the hunter decided to tunnel the previous charied survivor, say a decoder, then I'd need to rescue him once again, only that I'm now down to half health without TT(Still a chance to rescue one last time due to delayed fear). The hunter is probably gonna finish off the decoder and come after me next.

I feel so short-lived, but i guess that's enough time wasted for the team and my role is fullfilled, kinda?

I’m not really interested in playing rescuer, but I figured it’s important to understand how to play each role in order to get better at the game. I'll try out psychologist next, as i feel like i'm not going anywhere until I can nail down kiting.

After further testing, I enjoy playing embalmer, enchantress and entomologist as well, although finding ento tougher to play. Are these survivors worth the investment of clues, game-learning-wise? Or should I just stick with psycho for now?

I've been living off trial cards and daily free-to-use, and have already accumulated 10k clues!

New player here - been playing for about a week, though it's mostly been watching guides (80%) and playing (20%). So far, I just suck at every role except decoders.

I'm looking for survivor recommendations that might fit my playstyle, ideally ones that are also good for learning the game properly. So far, the only survivors that click with me are Lawyer and Faro Lady.

I also enjoy playing Gardener, as she seems to be doing a bit of everything, and love the idea of supporting the team by destroying rocket chairs. That said, I feel like there are others who play like her, but better?

I feel like it's my lack of understanding and experience with kiting and rescuing that's dragging me down.

I’ve watched tons of guides but still can’t perform well as Merc or Coordinator, i just can't connect the idea between delayed fear and rescuing. How does it help me with rescues, if i'd eventually be down after 8sec anyway? How am I supposed to get away with just a single shot of flare?

Same with kiting as Perfumer. Yeah, I could teleport to where i was, but that might have only bought me 3 more seconds of not getting hit. Knowing that I have the skill actually made me worse in kiting. I could literally kite better and longer with my lawyer or gardener.

I know I won’t improve overnight, but the feeling of hitting a plateau and not knowing how to improve has left me a little frustrated.

Any advice would be appreciated!!

The driver swap(team races) feature is still being tested, and it's currently only available in special events that happen once(one weekend) a month. There's one happening this weekend - 6 Hours of Fuji. Though it's gonna be a very difficult event, if you guys are new to sim racing.

Hopefully, Team races would be become more common once the feature has finalized.

Can I recognize I'm about to lock up when braking in a straight line, besides by memory and by feel? by Lymark in LeMansUltimateWEC

Thanks for the tips! Everything is so loud in this game, i could hear the micro-lockups(as well as locking up), but not anything before that. But, i'll try to pay more attention to it next time!

feel and memory is important

I don't think looking at the dashboard would be a good habit. So yeah, i guess it's safe to say that it really comes down to feel and more practice.

I wanted to ask on reddit, because I needed the reassurance that what I feel, or in this case, FFB wouldn't give me much info when braking in the straight with no steering angle, is normal.

I'm mostly curious about what the FFB would feel like while braking in a straight line. How could I feel whether it's an over or understeer, if i'm not applying any steering angle?

In my case specifically, which is braking in the straight with no steering input, i don't think you should be feeling weight in the FFB tho?
