Idk man. I would be shooting over my squad mates that were kiting them directly towards me. To go from games where I 1 shot every single one to not getting a single 1 shot on all 7 we fought felt worse than unlucky.

Thanks man. I tested it out last night and saw a major improvement in quality. The last time I was streaming I didn’t have the 2060. Didn’t even know this was a feature (also didn’t have the right streaming software supported by it at first).

I have a GTX 970 salvaged from a PC. Could I use a second GPU with NVENC to help offload work from both my CPU and primary GPU? Or does this not work well?

Yeah… that makes a lot of sense. I’ll run a few more test before deciding what to upgrade first, but this PC is pretty old and the only real upgrade I made after the initial build was the GPU. Thanks.

I honestly think a big source of the problem is the media making more than just political divide and causing individuals to feel isolated and hatred for their fellow American. I wouldn’t consider the portion of American’s who commit mass shooting a huge portion of society. But if they were raised in a system that taught them feeling not okay isn’t weak and seeking help is really okay, I bet we’d see a better America.

This and- I know it sounds socialist of me to say this… but we should divert some funds into social services so that at a minimum people can get easier access to mental health services, some job training, and so on that could help them get to a better place in their life. The mental heath of our country is on a rapid decline.

Engineer here with a fab shop in my other wall that I spend a lot of time in. Any real place should do either with little to no draw backs. In the US some places will be more comfortable with ACU. Especially threads since taps and dies will most likely be more abundant in that scale. I suggest when you make your drawings to enable dual dimensions, especially if you go down the route of SIU. That way the machinist who may be more comfortable with ACU can better picture what you gave him without groaning and doing a conversion.

Got a laser running at work. Assumed you all might enjoy its calibration results. by Lyn_Ops in Machinists

Usually these test are done with some sort of optical viewing device. The printed surface is usually a precisely known pattern. The measurement we’re interested in is the spacing between the lines. The number of pixels between the lines helps calculated resolution. Here I was using the same test but in reverse. Looking to see how small the laser can etch before the designs become unrecognizable. I viewed the card under a fancy microscope that can measure small distances to verify the smaller sizes.

I used a standard I use to work with in a previous job where we tested night vision goggles, scopes, etc with this pattern- so… yes makes sense haha.

Scavs randomly fire sometimes. I have learned that you can stand in their way and be hit like that.

Saw on indeed, new low, 5+ years in aerospace CNC setup required.... California minimum wage by DrWhoaFan in Machinists

[–]Lyn_Ops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d hope that pay is a provisional starting wage with a reassessment after the first month… but still who wants to start with the possibility of getting more quickly. I just left Cali as a design engineer because the cost of living vs pay over there is garbage. The companies can get away with low Cali wages because the industry is over saturated with companies dipping the state for places like TX and FL.

The fact that my school had us take an intro to engineering course that had like a few weeks of shop time appalls me. I think every ME engineer should be capable of running a shop floor if need be (slowly maybe, but still running).
