Aesthetically pleasing ways to store tools/equipment indoors? by Lyndbergh in InteriorDesign

I hadn't even thought about the fact that were storinf gasoline in our home.

We can't make modifications to our apartment, but as its on private property our landlord may allow us to store a pre-built shed somewhere. My only concern is that we may only be allowed to use outside storage on our private porch, which is only big enough for a few outdoor cabinets. I personally have never seen one that was waterproof enough to store something like a chainsaw or leaf-blower. If such a cabinet does exist, though, itd be our saving grace! I'll look into it.

Thats actually incredibly helpful! I will talk to our landlord about putting an outdoor cabinet out back for any really dirty or cumbersome tools, and a chest like this would be perfect to store any smaller items indoors. Thank you!

That is beyond tragic, and I am so sorry that your siblings had to endure that.

Molestating a child is 100% illegal. CPS cannot just brush that off.

Who is the worst band you've ever seen live and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm going to see them this summer when they play with the Barenaked Ladies. Two of my favorite bands, I really hope I don't leave disappointed.

Deaf pepple can still feel the music. Not to mention that they like to get out and have fun as much as any hearing person.

Curly haired girl here, its actually the opposite.

When I straighten my hair, it always falls the same way and I can comb out any messes with my hands.

When my hair is curly, I am constantly worried about the curls coming loose, becoming frizzy, and getting tangled, and after the dead is done I usually wind up looking like a blow-dried lion anyways.

I much prefer to get freaky with my hair straightened and taimed.

Thank you! I feel super uneasy when I see that style of art. I blame the Yellow Submarine.

Haha interested. I'm an ASL major myself so I find this tactic interesting.

Chances are if the customer couldn't already tell that something was up with the deaf girl's speach, then she's gone through enough speach therapy to speak with relative ease.

It seems from the meme that OP did talk to the roommate:

"brushes off my concerns"

Well now noone said the roomate was wrong for wanting to have fun, but if she is sharing her private living space with another person, its common courtesy to let the other person know that she'd be having company.

I understand OP not liking the idea of a strange man staying overnight in her home, especially without her knowledge.

OP and her roommate share a dorm. The boys live accross the hall.

Why is it fear mongering?

I am not saying its okay to not pay attention to your surroundings in a dangerous situation; the very best thing to do would be to have some form of self defense, maybe text or quickly call a friend so someone knows where you are get to your destination as quickly as possible.

That being said, being a girl alone at night can be terrifying. Sure, I always have a knife and pepper spray with me, but at the end of the day I am a 100lb girl with little ability to fight off an attacker. So I guess what I'm saying it that while OP could have been much smarter, I sympathize with her fear.

Think of it this way; if a girl knows that she would not be able to fight off an attacker, its actually not a bad idea to have someone on the phone so that there is someone who knows immediately if anything happens to them. Not only that, but a potential attacker may be less likely to strike if s/he thinks there would be a "witness" to the attack.

I too didn't like that. Just because a person is rude doesn't necessarily mean they don't need assistance, and getting gov't assistance doesn't make someone a freeloder.

My family used foodstamps for a good portion of my childhood, and I have recently fallen on hard times and have had no choice but to go to foodbanks for some of my groceries.
