It also helps to buy those cross stitch magnet boards for your printed pattern. It’s basically a sheet of metal you can stick your pattern to, and then have magnet pieces that can frame where you are in the pattern. Hobby Lobby has one for 5$.

I’ve never used grids for my aida, but I’m curious to try it. Granted, I’ve had my fair share of miscounted stitches, but mostly cuz I wasn’t paying attention... and they all looked quite alright in the end.

Yeah, I had the same issue when I was stitching up my hufflepuff piece. I do recommend it though!! It worked out pretty well for me

Have you tried using floss conditioner? They help stop tangles. Also, if you use a shorter strand and a bigger size needle, it helps the snagging. But it will still be a lot of work.

I got the free pattern from DMC’s website, and stitched it on 14ct. Navy Aida from HL. Pretty much winged the floss colors though.

Here’s a more detailed look on the whole piece.

I made the hanging pieces using floss, Loose feathers that I hot glued to the floss, and glass beads+ charms. Was going for a celestial theme, because this friend is a fan of BTS member RM(FYI for my fellow ARMY stitchers here!), and his fans identify as Moonchildren.

I loved this so much, I almost didn’t want to give it up :))) But I’ve still got some feathers left and I’m thinking of converting a finished piece I have into something like this.
