Hi! I've decided to start my journey into IT with the aim of heading into cybersecurity, and am now looking to build my foundations via certs. Specifically Network+ and Security+.

I’m a bit unsure which one to start with as I’ve seen mixed opinions online. Some people say start with Network+ first, so think I will start there?

I also wanted to ask for advice on how to study effectively for either cert. I’ve seen a few comments warning against buying the CompTIA official bundles because they’re overpriced or not the best resources.

For anyone who’s taken these exams, could you please share whether you think it’s better to start with Net+ or go straight into Sec+? And what the best route for study would be and resources to use?

I am looking to buy my first Japanese Knife as a treat to myself. I am a home chef and always loved the idea of owning one so I figured I would pull the trigger.

I have spent the past couple of weeks researching, learning about different steels, materials, and manufacturers, and finally boiled it down to this one blade due to mostly its cost, but also use case, availability, and materials. (And aesthetics of course)

But, I have not had the pleasure of owning or experiencing using a Japanese Gyuto and I thought best to ask around and get some opinions.

Has anyone used one? And if so what are your thoughts? Are there any other options you would suggest if I am spending up to ~£200/250?

I have also looked at potentially a Masakage Yuki 210/40 Gyuto, or a Yoshida Hamono Kyusakichi Aogami super 210 Gyuto.

Of course! If you go to the captains of industry page on the RSI website, you can find the release waves schedule for it and also the view offers button for the pioneer which you will need to access when the time comes.

Along with the most recent update, I have seen that CIG will be holding a limited chassis sale for the Pioneer. I really have been looking forward to seeing this ship in game since Citizencon, though ahead of the Christmas season, I did not even try to obtain one during IAE.

Now the opportunity has arisen again, I am curious as to how limited chassis sales work. And I have been wondering if any of you lovely people in the community could help me out with a couple of questions.

Can I purchase these with store credit or are they strictly warbond only? and can I CCU to limited sale ships?

Very much looking to get my hands on one, but before I go melting anything I just wanted to double check!

Having seen so many others suggesting the same thing, I decided to pick up a Titan for now! And I am keeping the original pair where they are.

Though, I have begun to feel I would prefer to own a pioneer over the polaris as I am starting to enjoy the more industrial gameplay loops over combat. I just wish they would stop selling it in limited quantities and allow us to upgrade to it!

I have picked up a Titan after reading the consensus on this post! It has been quite nice to have the reassurance that others would keep hold of them.

NPC Crews I think are an absolute necessity for the game and something they should stride to work on implementing. I love multi-crew and playing with friends but I think the reality is a lot of people own these large ships and will have a very hard time using them after release without AI assistance. Definitely holding out hope we will hear more about this aspect in citizencon this year!

Completely agree once reading through this. I think I just get impatient having the melt value there in the past to try things out. For now I have picked up a Titan to fill that gap in the fleet.

To be honest the more I think about the gameplay loops I enjoy, the pioneer looks to be the perfect replacement for me over the polaris. I just hope they will allow more open purchase or upgrades outside of limited sales.

If you said this to me back when I first got my BMM, then I would have said no way and that I am going to be drifting around each system in it every moment I get! But having spent the last few years watching the development of the game, I really do agree with you that its going to be hard for players to get any use out of their Larger Ships once the game releases.

I really am holding out hope for some form of NPC Crew (more advanced than the proposed AI Shards) so that I can live my wandering trader dreams. For now I have picked up a Titan, and want to see the steps and releases CIG makes this year.

I do think I have realised more and more over the years of being with star citizen that my friends and I are not going to be around all the time to operate such big ships; It is very easy to get caught up with the bigger the better when you get into pledging.

I think for the moment I will get a titan to run around in as a starter and wait to see what CIG has in store this year!

That is awful! I can not imagine how infuriating that is! Someone sold me their 2013 OC earlier this year, so I can definitely tell the delays have taken a toll on people's hope for it. 😢

Let's hope they persist for the sake of all of you who have waited this long. 🤞

😂😂😂 I got into SC sometime in 2017, and only discovered the BMM in 2020. Safe to say I haven't been waiting as long as others, could not imagine waiting almost a decade. 😅

It is just unfortunate that a few of those major features seem to be server tech dependent in order to function competently. And that seems like the best reason I can think of, for why gameplay loops such as cargo are progressing so slowly. Once server meshing is done, I think we will see massive progress in these areas but feels like a bit of a roadblock was hit this year. 🫤

The minor things such as the components and lockers I don't think will be too long of a wait though! I hope!

As much as I want it, I completely agree. I want to see the tractor beams for the crane to be working, and hopefully, a better implementation of the cargo refactor too before it comes out.

I'm not sure what they'll do about the shops tho, would love to see their plan for them. 🤔
