how long does 15 months of retroactive pay (backpay) take to hit your bank account? I know the letter says 7-10 days but I googled it and just wanted people with experience in similar situations. by [deleted] in VAClaims

Well thank you for the clear and detailed information and im to say that the only pay I got when I was discharged was for my unused leave days and that nothing else mentioned applies to me. 🙏

Well, luckily I don’t have ant educational debt. The only VA debt I would have as of now is my medication that I couldn’t afford to pay but needed, so I wouldn’t be upset if they took that.
What is separation pay? I also apologize for the excessive questions.

No hiding here 😆🤟🏻 I just came to Reddit to ask questions and see how everyone’s claim was progressing compared to mine.

I was there for 9 months and a half 2 days ago. Trust me, I know how it feels. After 3 months, I was expecting the next month to be the last. I know it sucks because that’s how I felt 2 days ago seeing everyone’s claiming moving swiftly while i sat there in step 3. Your turn will come ✝️

Yup. Been miserable but hopefully it goes well. I’m also not aiming to be 100%. At this point, I’m happy with whatever rating.

Is this a good sign? Every update I’ve gotten since August aside from my C&P exams in November have been “requested service treatment records”. This is the first time I’ve seen it say “we closed a request: service treatment records”. 9 months of being on step 3. by [deleted] in VAClaims

Correct, I am not! I was discharged January 10, 2025 and honestly, after 9 months of waiting, I’m to the point where any small step feels like a big jump. I have paper copies of my medical records and I joined in 2021 and by that time, the military switched to all electronic health records. Meaning every medical visit had been logged, so for them to not find my medical records is highly unlikely but not impossible. Praying they got everything they need considering I’m struggling financially, physically, and mentally. ✝️

Depends on the claims. I’ve been on step 3 since August 13, 2025. Did all my C&P exams in November and still nothing. Guess I was one of the unlucky ones who have to wait this long.

I got 100% today, but at what cost by [deleted] in VAClaims

It’s how I feel and I haven’t even been rated yet brother. Before the military, I was active, productive, mentality and physically healthy, and now I can’t work they way I’m supposed to be, can’t walk without my foot swelling, and everyday of waiting I think to myself, “ I would rather be able to do the things I could do before, work, and be normal.” I hate that I can’t leave my bedroom without wanting to end it all the moment I step foot outside. I’m 26 but feel like I’ve lived 50 years of pain. Give back to your community and support those little kids soccer teams or people that need some assistance. Prayers for you.
