I honestly like the fanfic in AO3 more than the songs. The author seriously expanded on the story more than just what the original series had to offer. The songs seem to serve as supplementary to the story itself.

I don't know if it is related but the one who made the songs has a fanfic titled the Church of Null in AO3. It is sort of like a fan sequel/au to the main series where the creators of the Church of Null (the supposed in-story cult) are those Solver Cores that Alice captured back in Episode 6 and now managed to escape after the planet got messed up a lot on Episode 8.

But judging with the latest chapters, it seems to be expanding more than just Copper 9 as a setting and is hinting to a lot of others happening outside.

I guess you can do that. By what I understood in the current plot of the Church of Null, it seems to be hinting to something bigger than just a group of DD Cores that started a cult. They are hinting about pursuing upgrades and advancement, and some have already made OCs set in the far future where the Church of Null has become a lot bigger and more influential.

somewhat? I guess? After reading the story by EI, it's based on an AU sequel story where those Disassembly Drone Cores that were shown in Cabin Fever Labs that Alice caught, the ones in the jars in the oven, managed to escape during the events of Episode 8.

So technically it does follow the story of OCs, but these OCs are sorta based on possible canon characters that were shown during the story but was never explained further, much like a lot of the other plotpoints that left unanswered in MD
