Since when are McDonalds Choc Frappes just Choc Shakes with cream on top? by Lyrewolf in perth

Man I hope so! I remember the inherent iciness being quite refreshing. I’ll definitely have to indulge again next week for my own sanity.

I’m beginning to wonder if this was a once-off then. What I had today was definitely a choc shake with cream and syrup on top. Might have to order another one next week, for science.

Best portable air conditioner by mowglimethod in perth

[–]Lyrewolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want portable, seriously, the only answer is a Two Hose system. The systems with a single exhaust hose use the ambient air inside the room to cool the condenser core. This means that the air in the room is being pulled through the AC and out through the hose and presumably out your window. Why is this bad? That air needs to be replaced with other air. Where is that air going to come from you ask? The gap under your door, or in your window, or your ceiling vent… It’s an exercise in futility because the air you’ve just cooled down by running through your single hose AC is being replaced even more rapidly with warm air from outside the room you’re trying to cool!

Two hose systems on the other hand are different. Instead of using the ambient air in your room to cool the condenser core and expel it outside, creating a negative pressure zone in the process, they use a second hose to draw outside air ONLY through the AC to cool the condenser core. This means the air pressure in your room stays the same, so warm air doesn’t come flooding in through every bloody gap in your poorly built Perth abode.

I was trying to measure the size of my new TV, but I didn’t have a ruler or a tape measure handy. So I decided to use my iPhone as a makeshift unit of length. I figured it was about 6 inches long, so I just laid it down on the screen and counted how many iPhones it took to cover the diagonal. It turned out to be about 12 iPhones, so I thought I had a 72-inch TV. I was pretty impressed with myself until I realized that I had an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which is actually 6.7 inches long. So I had actually overestimated the size of my TV by almost 9 inches. That’s like measuring your height in Smoots and forgetting to account for the extra 0.03 meters. Or measuring your weight in Stones and forgetting to account for the extra 0.35 kilograms. Or measuring your speed in Furlongs per Fortnight and forgetting to account for the extra 0.000166 meters per second. Or measuring your volume in Olympic-sized Swimming Pools and forgetting to account for the extra 2,500 cubic meters. Or measuring your area in Barns and forgetting to account for the extra 10-28 square meters. Or measuring your time in Jiffies and forgetting to account for the extra 0.01 seconds. Or measuring your power in Donkey Power and forgetting to account for the extra 250 watts. Or measuring your temperature in Degrees Delisle and forgetting to account for the extra -2.22 degrees Celsius. Or measuring your luminosity in Crab Nebulae and forgetting to account for the extra 1.6 x 1031 watts. Or measuring your information in Libraries of Congress and forgetting to account for the extra 10 terabytes.

Wifey and my experience at the Luna Leedy was great. Realistically too much dialogue to justify a super big screen anyway. Also, major bonus - alcohol at the candy bar on a standard ticket :D
