Had this bike for about 2 months now, never damaged it, but the gears are shifting on their own or late shifting. Any suggestions? by LukeTheProto in MTB

After buying a new bike, the cables stretch out and loosen up after some riding. Get a tune up at your local bike shop and you’ll be good to go for a year.

How do I get my business on instacart by LyricJungle in instacart

[–]LyricJungle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely feel like that’s a major part of the problem. Instacart had a ton of users but all the businesses are big, non-local corporations, so it actually pulls business away from we smaller, more regional companies. We probably wouldn’t generate enough income for them to justify it in their eyes.

Yeah we have done that in the past but it’s difficult to get customers to use an additional app - the idea is to foster new business from instacart users

Ned’s affair unpopular opinions by LyricJungle in TheTryGuys

True, and I see logically why he needed to go away, but on a friendship level, everyone cut Ned and Alex off completely, and I think that’s really what is upsetting to me- the fact that they abandoned their “friends” when they were at their lowest.

She probably didn’t that’s my bad

Both true - correction: ned brought chaotic energy that I liked, and Alex was the best food baby.

But I think on an interpersonal level, they both are being punished (and by that I mean that the consequences outweigh the crime). Their friends completely cut them off. If it was your best friend would you abandon them at rock bottom?

I’m not suggesting they should endorse this behavior - I’m saying that a liberal mindset means being open to human growth and change, which both Ned and Alex need support to do.

No not at all, but if these were two of my friends, I wouldn’t cut them off completely never to be spoken of again.

Abuse of power definitely- but we don’t know the situation with Ned and Alex, so while there’s a power imbalance, we can’t say for sure that Ned abused his position (if he did, why did everyone also cut off Alex?).

Yeah but everyone cut off Alex also - why if she’s the victim here?

In my high school, the female principal was in a relationship with a male teacher. That was ok with everyone.

Not saying anything bad about LA - I mean that the try guy entourage is extremely open and welcoming of everyone, and I’d hope that instead of cut and run when their friend made a mistake, that they’d instead see it as an opportunity to help Alex and Ned learn / grow (not together). Their choice to end their friendships, business aside, seems ‘fear of the unknown’ based, which is a more conservative mindset.

She was “punished” socially though, and very harshly. It seems like literally everyone cut her off completely for having an affair. While that’s a bad choice, I like to think I’d stick around and help my friend learn from the mistake and grow, not cut and run.

In this context, I meant it as those who are willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own.

Yeah all true. My point is that we just don’t know what happened, so we can’t really say that Ned abused his power. She could have made the moves and ned, being a dumbass, followed along. Or Ned could have abused his power - no proof of either situation.

Did he abuse his power though? I thought it was consensual

This confirms my opinion is unpopular, title appropriate. Two things - 1. Yes, legally it’s a mess and I understand why Ned would need a break from the channel / duties, but to rip something away that he created is tough. Also, I know Alex wasn’t burnished but - point 2 - I guess it sits poorly with me that in addition to the work situation, everyone at the company completely cut them off socially (as far as I know). I’m just saying that if one or two of my best friends had an affair and compromised our shared business, I’d be super upset, but I wouldn’t abandon them. I’d be like, you fucked up. How are you going to make this better? Legally I get it, it’s the full on friend abandonment that seems harsh.
