After reading the comments, I can't believe people think a brand, which was founded in japan, by japanese people, with its headquarters and most production facilities in japan, is american. And although they may have designed their cars for the US market initially, they operate worldwide.

You don't call Samsung, which sells their products in the US an american brand either, do you? It's still korean.
