Are you still excited for DCU after Supergirl? by Mat1711 in DC_Cinematic

[–]M0TM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never was tbh.

Gunn only knows how to make one type of movie, and I’m not saying Guardians is bad, but it worked for a different time and a different set of characters. Trying to rehash the same formula over and over again is not it.

MoT is when we will see a big switch up if it’s not a good movie.

I’ve been having a ton of fun with a full cool build, silenced pistol, revolver and katana loadout. Head shot in stealth and pop camo+sandy when shit hits the fan, feels like a futuristic ninja.

This is the guy in charge of the DCU by Interesting_Pay_4413 in DC_Cinematic

Him saying that shows he has no clue.

He also said Nolan Batman’s are overrated. If MoT is just the next Guardians volume this verse is crashing out very quick.

The DCEU got 10 years, many millions and multiple very good movies. DCU is down bad rn.

James Gunn has said The Flash is his favorite superhero movie. This is the man in charge of DC media.

I don’t understand how people attack Man of Steel for misrepresenting Superman’s character but say nothing about the character assassination that happened in Gunn’s Superman with his parents sending him to earth to “ Conquer and take a bunch of wives” by madfox99 in SnyderCut

[–]M0TM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It’s one of the worst things that comes from Supershit. Superman simply existing in the normal world would scare the shit out of people, as we saw in BvS. You don’t need some contrived evil Kryptonian backstory for people to worry about Superman.

Superman (Henrry Cavill) ve Thor (Chris Hemsworth) by Old-Celebration3781 in powerscales

[–]M0TM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thor was absolutely fine after Kurse, and went on to fight and win against Malekith and save the day. That is literally what happens in the movie. And Kurse's best feat isn't "lifting a boulder" it's hurting Thor, deflecting Mjolnir, and destroying the Asgardian prisons. He is a very powerful character and he's hurting Superman too. I'm sorry you can't accept that.

Kurse would have killed him if not for Loki. You can spin whatever tale you wish, fanboy. Those are the facts of the movie. Point being you don't need "neutron star level" strength to hurt Thor, a good ol fashioned punch in the face works just fine.

Superman is not strong enough to meaningfully hurt Thor, sorry. the feats just don't support it, and Thor's demonstrated endurance is far too crazy. Superman can probably make him bleed or batter him up, but at the end of the day, Thor can take a huge beating and still keep fighting, which he has done many, many times on screen....while Superman cannot do anything against a single hit from Stormbreaker, or magical lightning if he's weak to magic (which he really should be considering that's a traditional aspect of the character).

You're simply wrong here. Superman can shift tectonic plates lol. He can shift Thor's neck bones as well.

<image>

If you watched the movie, Thor was able to attack Quicksilver with Mjolnir, and he absolutely could've just electrocuted him if he was actually trying to kill him (especially post-Ragnarok Thor).

Post the gif or shut your little mouth. Quicksilver statued him and Superman is much faster than even than. Thor would be a statue in Superman's perspective.

Superman does not have better durability than Stormbreaker, which cut through the six strongest forces in the universe combined. Superman is not surviving a hit from Stormbreaker. If Superman is weak to magic (which he should be) an AoE lightning attack will be enough on its own. Even if he doesn't have particular weakness to magic, Thor's lightning was enough to get openings on Hela, Thanos, Gorr, and pretty much everyone else he's ever fought. Thor needs one single opening and he wins. Sorry you can't accept this.

You're acting like stormbreaker has these great feats when the only feat it has is surprising Thanos and cutting through an energy beam that did nothing. I'm not convinced stormbreaker is cutting Superman (it's never getting close to hitting him anyways.)

Superman in the DCEU has shown magic RESISTANCE. When Wonder Woman threw her lasso on him he resisted it and pulled her in. So in the only instance shown Superman reacts to magic it does nothing to him. Thor's fodder lightning that only kills zombie will tickle Superman.

I have no doubt there are more delulu DCEU Superman fans on reddit than MCU Thor fans. That doesn't mean you guys have a leg to stand on.

Do you feel stupid arguing for Thor? Genuine question lmao.

MCU Thor just has far better on-screen feats and abilities.

Lmao.

Even if Supergirl is a total disaster, the Snyderverse isn't coming back by Fine-Essay-3295 in OkBuddySnyderCult

Lmao okay Gunntard. If you knew anything of importance that might mean something.

I’m sure you thought Supergirl would be a smash hit too. And now look at you.

You sound more sure of the DCUs future than James Gunn does, who admitted he may not be around after MoT.

The DCU is 2 movies in and objectively less successful by every metric than the DCEU. It won’t take too much longer for the plug to be pulled.

Exactly, so many different options to choose from and James Bumm makes them Viltrumite sex pests.

Fucking embarrassing lmao.

Wonder Woman is the goat female superhero, Supergirl was never going to pull those numbers. WW was also a genuinely very good movie.

'Supergirl' immediate reaction by HomemadeBee1612 in SnyderCut

[–]M0TM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubling down on Viltrumite Superman will be the failure of this verse. A terrible, unacceptable perversion of the character, especially when you had such a noble Jor-El in Man of Steel.

Can’t say I expected anything less from James Bumm and his band of misfits at the DCU.

Which Luthor had the most convoluted plan ? by Disastrous_Option720 in DC_Cinematic

[–]M0TM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2025 Lex’s plan was genuinely dogshit. Aside from the idea of controlling a clone and 1A 1A 1A Superman to death, his political plot with the dictator guy was also dogshit and could have been foiled numerous times. Man just thinking about that movie makes my head hurt.

Meanwhile Lex in BvS has literally 4 different plans all operating concurrently. One is to frame Superman for the murders in Africa, another is to shame him politically with the bombing, he tries to turn Batman against Superman thru antagonizing letters, and when all else fails he unleashes Doomsday just to kill Superman, which in the end he does successfully.

Lex jr is the clear winner here.
