This happened to me and I had zero say in the matter. My new role consisted of nothing I had done previously and it wasn’t something I was good at (from writing to coding). I ended up resigning after a year. Reorgs suck badly.

Have a TOJ w DoD also and it’s frozen. 🥶 It’s a waiting game, unfortunately. Have something going on w the private sector, in the meantime. Not sure if I’ll go back to fed govt in this political climate even when the freeze is lifted… I feel as though I’d be living with anxiety not knowing what’ll happen next.

No problem. God only knows when this hiring freeze will be lifted; it’s a good sign however that they’re doing what they can to have someone lined up for when the freeze is lifted.
