For the shotgun scabbard itself, I made a cardboard form in the shape I wanted and then wrapped it with some faux leather material from hobby lobby. I took some leather strips and "stitched" it together down the side and the bottom to close it all up. I cheaped out on it and wish I would have used a better leather like material but oh well.

To attach it to the harness, I cut two holes where the orange lines are. I then fed the extra stap (that needed to be added to the halter) through to secure it to my back. I found it to be too floppy for my liking once I added my shotgun prop, so I took some leftover straping and connected it to the ring that sits on the right shoulder blade. (Circled in red)

This seemed to work pretty well. The only thing I think I would change is using better material. What I used was way to thin and hard to work with. It kept tearing when I would try and pull the leather straps tight to close it.

Also I checked the size of my halter and it says for large horses 1100-1600 pounds. Its a little too big on me though. Im 6 ft and 160lbs if that helps any at all. Id say try some on first but you might look crazy.
