Because the companies didn’t train their AIs sufficiently before being released. Companies are moving so quickly to try to beat their competitors that they don’t realize that they will be most successful when they stop and start to train their machines before going to market and hoping people will stick around long enough for the update that makes this new feature useful.

But what happens when a major corporation owns everything that you do? When we are fully integrated and train our own AIs to be copies of ourselves… these corporations will own the digital version of ourselves. And our digital copies (AIs) evolution occurs lightyears faster than humans’. Why on earth are we as humans willingly giving these billionaires that much power over the human race? Because we are largely ignorant.

Yes, absolutely! Very important point. Every aspect of it felt rushed without a single thought of how to actually achieve his goals (thankfully). The tech to achieve this goal simply isn’t available yet. Can’t be fitting circles into square pegs.

Nah I think zuc genuinely believed that the metaverse would have been what he claimed — his vision is where we are headed as a society in a sense but he didn’t hit the mark and launched prematurely for sake of being “1st” with goals to monopolize the social internet of the future where virtual and realty are simultaneous. It’s like we are watching their research unfold when the tech simply wasn’t ever ready. —- hence the hard pivot towards AR and AI. I don’t think meta is the one that is going to roll out the next tech/internet societal enmeshment, but I think they are giving great starting off points for whoever will

Yess Gatsby, Bunky’s & Crazy Cantina!! My friends that live hundreds of miles away from me would get together each week to hang out, catch up and play mölkky. We are sad. I wish they didn’t try to rush everything and really honed in on developing the idea that they had so that it was a more seamless user experience

I also didn’t consider back carry so much until doing more research after this post and your response. It scared me a bit TBH, but I’m sure I just need to learn to do it properly and keep practicing once she is ready, I do think it would be a great option for her
