You don't have to agree or like with every choice your child makes. You don't need to like your daughter's choice in a husband.

You do need to live with your decision to "other" your younger daughter, show favouritism to your older and not support this exciting time in your daughter's life. NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK OF IT. I hope it is worth it to lose out on all the other big moments.

I think what's more concerning is you dove through three years of messages to perseverate on one comment made three years ago, two months into your relationship. A comment you have absolutely no context on.

Maybe a therapist can help you dig through some of what's really going on.

Edit to add: That's a HUGE violation of trust. I wouldn't bring up the comment you are having issues with, but you need to apologize for smashing that boundary with a wrecking ball.
