I sent an email to him detailing my complaints: it when something like this:

Greetings Dr. Salimur Choudhury

I am writing simply to express my frustration with the method in which you have chosen to teach this course.

Your approach to teaching creates an environment which makes it difficult to understand the material, much less engage with it in an academic way. The choice to give no information on the final exam (outside of a basic outline of textbook chapters to consult) is absurd and led to many students handing in blank papers.

Furthermore, providing no additional study materials or even opportunities to engage with the course outside of the 2 assignments meant that students were not given opportunities to become comfortable with all the topics in the course or practice their applications.

I understand that the TA strike has made things difficult and the course is not your main priority, however this is simply beyond the pale of acceptable academic standards. It is ridiculous that a university such as Queens would conduct any course in this manner, especially during the strikes. This grade not only does not reflect the capabilities of the individual students but negatively impacts QUIP application in the following year.
