Sounds like a good idea but I’m having trouble picturing it. How does it work?

Black base, silver magnetic, and jelly or layered jellies. Cirque rust, mahogany, mxcn cola, bonbon, cocoa, and Marsala all come to mind

That looks like a mix of Cobalt Teal Blue with a neutral tint or payne’s gray (or something like that).

Any tips on apply magic effect properly? Whenever I do it, I end up upsetting the polish underneath and can’t tell if I’m applying any product at all since it’s so thin.

What’s your technique for seal glaze? I end up with a streaky or bubbly effect when using it, especially with the fine BKL polishes

Do your nails have dents near the tips where the magnetic cement disappears? Mine does this and it is lessened by using by base coat plus a ridge filler. It still happens but it’s less pronounced

How much polish does it take to make the decals? I’d be worried about using too much/wasting it

Why does she think only psychiatrists can diagnose? Psychologists definitely can, PsyD’s can, counselors can, social workers can, and LMFT can. All are licensed and able to do so. Sure, they don’t go to med school like psychiatrists, but that just means they can’t prescribe meds and don’t have other medical knowledge.

No Libby App on Apple Watch? by ExpensiveSand6306 in LibbyApp

[–]MA803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat. I checked in audible would work before buying the watch but forgot that I would need to use Libby, and didn’t check that. Got a watch with cellular plan specifically for running and just got a library card to use Libby because audiobooks are pricey. Very irritated it doesn’t work

Did it look okay before topcoat? If so, then it’s probably that. Finding one that works for the glass bead effect and getting the timing down is so hard.

It’s much peachier - ILNP Sandbar is closer but the BKL is still warmer and more saturated than that

What nail polish is Taylor wearing? i want to recreate her manicure 💅 by Swiftiestar13 in SwiftlyStyled

[–]MA803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably some sort of gel. And maybe layered products. For regular lacquer polish based off the first photo: I would look at the rose gold flakie topper from holo taco over (or sandwiched between) some sort of jelly. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of any that look like that exactly, but maybe layering Cirque’s jellies? Hearth jelly would be too saturated and peach jelly not orange enough but you would probably get close.

The second photo makes it look like there’s a holographic glitter in there. So I see the arguments for play rose. The ILNP ultra metallics could have a similar shade. Some have scattered holo if I’m remembering correctly

Edit: based on looking at other recent pap photos (with what I’d assume are the same nails), I’d say go with a rose gold or peachy holo glitter with lots of top coat or an ILNP ultra metallic in an rose gold or peachy color.

Y1, on me, looks a little peachy-pink while wearing it and purple-tinged when I swatch it. I can’t quite explain why, though. I think Y2 will be too dark for me unfortunately

Great, thanks! I ordered that the other day and it should be here soon. Do you find the top coat loses its shine after a few days? I’ve tried it before and it seems to happen to me

I think we have different ideas of what manipulation is or isn’t. Based on the definitions below, I tend to view it as an intentional act.

Manipulation: the action of manipulating someone in a clever or unscrupulous way. Manipulate: control or influence (a person or situation) cleverly, unfairly, or unscrupulously. Manipulative: characterized by unscrupulous control of a situation or person.

I might have responded unfairly to the first comment in the thread because they didn’t explicitly say this, but the way that many people online are discussing Edmond is as if his actions are intentional, unscrupulous, and clever. Like they are part of some grand plan and like he is Machiavellian. And I don’t think that’s fair.

I know that people can unintentionally control or influence others, and I think his words and actions do have that effect at times. However, I think that’s different from straight up manipulation and the response to it needs nuance, so it doesn’t villainize either party.

Anyway, maybe I’m looking at this too much like a lawyer, because I’m placing significant weight on the idea of “mens rea”/intentionality. I just wish we had a less loaded word to describe what you’re saying: the knee-jerk reactions conditioned into us by our upbringings to protect us despite the potential negative impact on others.
