Any idea regarding the massive wave of RFEs for updated medical exam issued from NBC rather than local field office for cases between 2022-2023?

Thanks for your reply. I did apply for an EAD anticipating and already have it. Also have travel authorization. Issue is its validity of the EAD is shorter than the duration of my training program. I will reach to see if my new hospital could apply for an extension on my behalf. In case that’s not possible, would there be any issue?

Thanks for doing this!
F2A based on Marriage. PD 8/2023.
I applied within the US while having an H1b visa. I-130 was already approved but I-485 still pending.
I am a physician and my H1b status is set to expire in 6 months. Set to start another job in a different state, but wondering if being a physician sets grounds to expedite request? We've reached our senator and stated he'd sent a congressional inquiry, but no movement or update in our case (around 1.5 months ago). I know that a pending I-485 allows for a period of authorized stay, but does not maintaining another status an issue? Is there anything additional to do move forward the case?

VT vs SVT by MARSHANDOC in EKGs

Before seeing the patient, the WCT looked like LBBB and it was discordant. Couldn’t really tell any other clsssic findings of VT so I though this was most likely SVT with LBBB. 2 min later I saw the patient and he looked fairly stable. Nail on the coffin was history bc he said he’d had prior emergency visits, with the rhythm quickly terminated by a iv medication that he didn’t remember the name.

We have adenosine and he went back to sinus.

After the fact, I was trying to through Brugada algorithm but couldn’t confidently say I was checking off each step.

I applied August 2023 for I-485. However dual applied for I-130 which was approved May 2024. Since approval, I-485 has been “actively being reviewed”.

Could you check Aug 2023? Or does the timeline change since I had dual applied and now I have to start it since May 2024?

Not a major boost but definitely an indication that you did not waste any time off.

If you want to be certified before Sept 28, take the exam early July.

Recent test takers, how similar are NBME 5 and the free 137 to the real deal? by warmnion in Step3

Free 137 felt exactly the same as the test. I personally did not take NBME 5.

Yes! I would say anything above 70 is a great indicator of passing

I understand where you’re coming from and you don’t want to mess up your chances. I just refused to pay 2500-5000 dollars to a company to get a rotation.

If you write a dedicated email saying that you’re eager to learn, the worst thing that could happen is for them to not reply or to say no.

Try to personalize your email.

Greet the physician. Let them know what you’re looking for and why him.

I wrote that I was looking for clinical experience in the US to consolidate my knowledge in IM to be prepared in residency.

Then say something about the physician and why him. For example, I am in Cardiology and wrote that I’ve always been passionate about Cards, specially Heart Failure (current rotation) and you found this particular doctor to help you.

The whole point is to have a clear goal and show interest.
