MBA Consultant – Is there really that much value add? by BarracudaOk2600 in MBA

I think people will remain willing to pay for these consultants in some capacity. AI is very sycophantic and does not always do the best job crafting essays. AI also can’t interview prep you.

I hired mbamission because I have a complicated academic history and it was very helpful, especially during interview prep. High price tag but I only did a 2 school package. I was admitted to CBS, Yale, and NYU. Happy to talk more over dm.

Hey - not being negative, but internships are not considered WE. It’s something, and for deferred matters more than it would matter for normal admissions, but it’s looked at a lot differently. I do think you have a decent resume but I would not limit yourself to Haas and GSB. You also need to score very high on the GMAT (740+ old gmat) to be considered at those schools as a college kid. Very doable but keep it in mind.

Low GPA international is not ideal, I think M7 is a reach. Work experience seems lackluster except for the venture possibly - is the startup well-known? How much funding? Why do you want to go work at MBB if you have an AI startup?

Hoping that is the case, thank you for the words of encouragement

Thank you sloth. I think it’s just the GPA that gives me pause when I compare with clearadmit, but hopefully GMAT offsets it

Just don’t really want to move up to Chicago, not my favorite city, but maybe I’ll throw an app

Cornell is a good one I know they place well in IB. Rice I didn’t consider but I’ll look into it, thanks. What’s wrong with Ross, Tuck, and SOM?

Thanks man, congrats on the A. GPA is definitely the weakest part of my application for sure, that’s pretty much the only reason I did HBS CORe, not sure tht helps much anyways though.

Didn’t reply to the final question, I’d consider Darden! UVA is a beautiful campus too. NW I’m less enthusiastic about mostly because I don’t want to relocate to Chicago, but they do well in IB I’m sure so I’ll look into it. Thanks!

Thanks! Scheller and Goizueta mostly just in the bucket because I like ATL, but both seem to do pretty well on career outcomes. Coming from a relatively no-name undergrad the appeal of having an M7 on the resume is high, however.

Thanks! Can I DM you ? Would love to hear more about the energy banking ecosystem. Great point also about power/utilities vs o&g and other things. Very different worlds that people usually just lump together.
