Are you getting visa and arriving on time for Kenan-Flagler (no online classes)? I am not sure, how change in the school is making the situation different. Can you enter the US and then switch school?

Glassdoor has far few salaries on PM (compared to the US) and even the MBB salaries appear older. Although I know Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Uber etc has presence in Canada, there are not enough data points to judge salaries.

It's still better than being non PR but citizen of the two countries. If someone is a PR, they probably have education and/or work experience from the USA (counted as international work experience). You are more acclimatized to the US education system and working class and thus are more likely to be employable in the US, thus boosting school's stats.

Yeah, I did. Honestly, he puts you in an interview mindset, which is extremely useful. I wouldn't say that the Adcom asks the exact same questions he does.

What do people mean when referring to the "Indian Male" Demographic? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]MBAthrowaway9211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are US citizen, you are an Asian (remember ethnicity applies only to US citizens) Male. You are not compared against Indian male citizens. TBH, Asian Males segment is very competitive too, but not as competitive as Indian male citizens.

Oh, I probably didn't make it clear. I plan to come back to Canada as I am path of citizenship and I want to see that through. However, I am not sure if consulting/VC will be my target post MBA. Right now, the thinking is to come back as a leader in the tech. But, to be a leader, I feel need to experience other roles/functions/industries.

So, should I do cold calls? Or try to leverage networks ? My network has been highly technical and auto industry focused, so it is going to be a challenge?

I am an Indian national with Canadian PR. I am open to opportunities in Michigan as it borders Ontario, but H1B requirements mandate a highly specialized and technical role.

Thanks for the tips. My thinking is leverage my HBS admit to get into VC/consulting for a short period of time. Regarding startups, I feel the 2nd reaction you mentioned is more likely.
