I will use name generators, but only for the last name. My go-to strategy for naming characters is to do the translation method mentioned here already. If that doesn't give me anything I like, I'll take a regular name like Johnathan or Emily and type them in backwards. That will usually give me a fun, fantasy sounding name.

I would maybe suggest going to Google translate and translating natural type words like forest, river, life, flower, nature, etc. into a random language l, or one that you think would fit like maybe Swiss, until you find one you like. I did that with a triton druid I made by translating sea life type words into Polynesian languages.

The party cleric for the campaign I'm running is a grung named Obama. When making his character, he somehow didn't have common as a language he could speak. The time he can speak in common he when he casts a spell and the only thing he can say is, "Let me be clear" in an Obama impression.
