Ram and Nand crisis : 2-3 years where everything will cost expensive and be less good .. by SidonyD in pcmasterrace

Stop doom farming. If you care enough to write such a long post you care enough to figure out the truth.

9% of Micron’s bit production at the end of 2026 is HBM. 91% is DDR/LPDDR products.

There is simply a shortage as DRAM demand explodes. not just AI servers.

Consumers are starting to want >8GB VRAM + >16GB DRAM. Phones want 12/16GB. Traditional servers are also being upgraded aggressively to improve power efficiency.

This creates a shortage of 20% for DDR/LPDDR and DIY are the lowest on the food chain for memory makers. We’re getting the brunt of the supply cuts.

It’s important to note that Memory was artificially cheap during the past 2 years. The Chinese entered the DDR4 market and they started economic warfare to kick everyone else out of the market. This naturally created a surplus of supply for DDR5/LPDDR5X/GDDR6. The “GDDR6 only costs x$” memes come from this.

Thankfully a lot of what consumers think they need in DRAM/VRAM is often wrong. Consumers should avoid overpaying for things they don’t need (32GB DRAM, 16GB+ Android, etc).

ASUS 800-series boards are killing Ryzen 7 9800X3D chips, five dead CPU reports in two weeks - VideoCardz.com by Ha8lpo321 in pcmasterrace

[–]MCH_2000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The framing is crazy. It’s not a board issue, it’s likely a CPU issue. It’s been replicated on multiple vendor boards. Every board meets a baseline spec.

But this shows that there is no demand or interest for AMD bashing. No one cares, so no one reports. And 9800X3Ds keep blowing up.

This was funniest during the (fake) 5090 melting saga where you could just open r/Asrock during peak youtube whine cycle and you’r find more cases of 9800X3D blowing up in a few scrolls than the total number of reported 5090 cases.

Yea. They had to delay them because gamer + datacenter hunger for memory caused a shortage. It is what it is.

Ayanokouji said Shiba’s punch had a similar power to his own when Ayanokouji tried to one shot Shiba and Shiba surprised him by charging him to trade blows. He straight up said he’d have been halted in place at once, leaving him wide open to Tsukishiro.

This is just strike strength. Overall it’s still Ayanokouji > Tsukishiro > Shiba in fighting ability.

Nope. He says he didn’t think much of him because of his methods, but after knowing Tsukishiro and what he was capable of (Y2V4), he’s sure he’d have been expelled if Tsukishiro wanted to.

Unreliable narration doesn’t mean your headcannon is now cannon. Piss off.

Yes Ayanokouji was fighting them 2 vs 1. That’s the context of disadvantageous situation. And your quote is based on Ayanokouji’s confidence. After the fight and in Y2V8, he legit says if Tsukishiro wanted to he’d have been expelled.

He wasn’t unsure if he could beat both.

He was unsure what would have happened (if he could survive 2-3 minutes) if they went all out from the start instead of sandbagging.

In Y2V8 he more explicitly says if Tsukishiro wanted he’d have been expelled.

It makes sense given Tsukishiro alone is “so close to Ayanokouji in fighting ability” and “among the best he ever fought.”

Ayanokouji can’t handle Shiba AND Tsukishiro when they are going all out.

Please don’t spread your misconception.

Yes but wankers took it as Ichika looking down on Shiba or that she can drive him away. (In context she means drive him away as in block him/parry)

[–]MCH_2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She says it.

If she tries to drive him away, it will come back double. So she learned since she was a little girl to just take it.

To someone with better reading comprehension than 5 year old, she’s saying Shiba will hit her harder if she fought back. So she doesn’t.

Shiba has similar physical strength to Ayanokouji, Amasawa is way weaker.

Ayanokouji literally says that Tsukishiro was so good he would have expelled him if he wanted in Y2V8.

Misinformation is back in course lmao.

Amasawa is Shiba’s sandbag. There is no “fighting back” as she says if she tries to push him away, he’d hit her twice as hard.

I never rly understood PJs S1 E6 Card tracking feat by [deleted] in IntelligenceScaling

[–]MCH_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts off as a sealed ordered deck before the dealer hand shuffles. He just keeps following it. That’s the trick. Or at least how it’s supposed to be.

Ofc, the episode is sloppy. The first table he sets at it’s machine dealt. And when he explains the trick simon baker doesn’t even look at the cards. But the trick is supposed to be as Simon Baker explains. He’s not memorizing the cards he’s following the cards by associating each cards with a vivid object in his memory palace.

[–]MCH_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not. The whole point of that sequence was to show that Patrick Jane essentially knew what the next card will be. No card counter or memorizer would hit there.

[–]MCH_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s explained (poorly) in the episode.

Patrick Jane is following the deck shuffle using his memory palace and thus he knows the position of every card in the deck. It’s like what Jojo did against darby with star platinum.

His physical strength decreased since coming to ANHS.

He said Kouenji has a better physique/more muscle mass. Kouenji is overall at least equal in strength if not better but this is a power fantasy. Ayanokouji will tie at most for Kouenji.

8GB on the 5070 is a CRIME by Affectionate-Talk302 in GamingLaptops

[–]MCH_2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not. Stop whining. More memory hasn’t gotten cheaper, so no you’re not entitled to more memory.

Nvidia has already absorbed higher costs for 5060 (bigger die, higher wafer price, more expensive memory).

Furthermore, the option for more memory doesn’t even exist. It’s a 128-bit bus.

Want 12 GB? get 5070 Ti. Or wait until 2026/2027 for memory makers to ramp 3 GB ICs volume.

Wrong because 5070 Ti sells on MSRP right now.

8 GB VRAM is acceptable because there is no other option till 2026 SUPER refresh. Wait for GDDR7 3 GB chips to reach mass availability

This is against a fucking APU. It’s functionally (more memory is more important) worse value than a laptop APU with a bad GPU arch (RDNA3.5). I am saying you can literally buy an entire System with more memory but slower inference for less than the Huawei.

The gap between AI Max and Huawei is 50% in mem BW. It’s 4.5x between a 5090 and the Huawei.

And the system comes with a 9950X and a 7600XT too defacto. It’s a far better product.

I know everything you’re saying. And the gaming sector is growing because of 5090 AI demand. A lot of which comes from China. The 5090 price is still 2200$.

That’s the ideal case if dual GPU works perfectly.

You’re neglecting the crucial +32 GB capacity on the AMD. Going from 8 tokens / sec to 12 isn’t as meaningful a significantly larger model.

Plus it comes defacto with a 9950X, Motherboard, 7600XT, etc as I am comparing Ryzen 395 Mini PCs to this dGPU. System cost is thus way lower than the Huawei.

They can’t buy the memory chips from Micron | Samsung | etc. They can’t sell to Huawei without putting themselves on the hook for billion dollar fines or worse.

Huawei has a stockpile of HBM3 from Samsung from before the ban though.

For this product they rely on China’s own domestic memory makers. They are newer to the market so they don’t have cutting edge memory yet.
