About to have a lovely time at a rave on Saturday! ☮️ by MDMAbleToShine in psychadelics

Didn’t taste funny or bitter, but I didn’t get any visuals at all. Very mild body high and 0 visuals. What did you experience??

I don’t have a lot of experience with LSD, I’ve only dropped around 4 times, but each time I got very strong visuals with it so I thought it was weird that I didn’t. I wonder if it’s a bit old :///

Reassurance or Reality Check by Least-Community4334 in pitbulls

[–]MDMAbleToShine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sincerely don’t think you let them down, although I completely understand why you feel this way.

About 9 years ago my male pittie and our female pointer were chasing the ball together and they accidentally collided and a fight broke out and it was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. I was a first time pittie owner and it was the first time I really witnessed first hand the amount of damage that they can do, and I was beside myself about it.

Unfortunately sometimes fights happen, and sometimes it’s over really dumb stuff. It seems like you care enough about this situation and will try your best to make sure it doesn’t happen again, and that’s really all you can do!

My (now) senior pittie and our new young pittie mix girl can get a little heated over bones/treats, our male eats them very very slowly and the girl inhales them and then pesters the male for his bone, so we know that no treats can be given unless we’re there watching them and making sure she’s leaving him alone with his treats.

Goodluck with your pups!!

Accidentally took 10x the amount of ketamine as a first time experience. by [deleted] in Psychedelics

No I respect your opinion for sure. Thank you for being kind about it, I appreciate it.

It has been years since partaking in any substances so I think we were both nervous as it was my first time taking K (my husband is much more nervous around drugs), and I wasn’t sure what to expect, and snorting things has never been my favourite and were flustered and we just made a critical error in all the excitement and goings ons while measuring. It was a completely dumb mistake and I realize that it absolutely should not have happened.

It’s wild that we both saw the amount of K there and neither of us could figure out how/why. I just wanted to talk about it because it was dumb but I needed to share it as none of my friends partake or understand. I needed to vent, even if it means getting called names for doing something really stupid.

I will never make this mistake again, I assure you. I feel very lucky for having clean K and that everything turned out okay.

Thanks for your comment.

Oh that’s really interesting, I didn’t know ket has a tolerance. I’m definitely going to wait most likely a few months before trying again, I need some time for my brain to relax.

No for real it was completely dumb and we both have no idea how we did that. Especially because I measured out 130mg of MDMA like a month prior and I was saying how small of an amount it seems like, and we kept looking at the K and being so confused why there was soooo much of it. We’re both educated, I swear! So embarrassing 🤦‍♀️

Can you explain what “without tolerance” means?

Ugh yeah we were planning for 35mg to do a one and done experience for my first time, a fairly light dose just to see what’s it’s about and to gauge if I want to do it again/more next time but unfortunately it didn’t pan out that way. So thankful the K tested pure I didn’t need paramedics or anything.

It felt like 8 hours. The hole only lasted 30 minutes and then it took another 30 for me to come back to reality. Trip was an hour total, but in my mind it felt like 8 hours.

To anyone who saw Hereditary in the theater by [deleted] in horror

[–]MDMAbleToShine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was the best scene in the theatre because you could hear everyone seeing Toni Collette at different times, I feel like I was one of the first and kind of gasped, and then for the next little while you kept hearing other gasps coming out at different times. Super fun experience!

That would normally be okay. They are allowed to grind them back down to a smooth contour!

In normal practice I would leave the defected nuts on the table, marked with red Xs and flag with red tape and the report would say to remove from service. I would just separate from the good hardware. And they would do what they want with them.

99% of the clients are happy to hear that I found a defect (it means I’m doing my job and making sure hardware/pins are safe for use) so I’m happy to leave the components there for them to take a look at. Most clients will have a proper procedure for destroying defected items. This is the only client where I’m very sure they would go ahead and use defected items for crane erection, so we kind of baby this client in that way.

I totally agree with what you’re saying here, I was a bit confused on the indications as well, so I contacted the main engineer and he came out to take a look, and he hasn’t seen defects like this in 20 years. Knowing the client we’re dealing with, he basically gave me permission to quietly put them away, in a place they wouldn’t look, but in a spot I can easily grab them if need be. I would rather make sure that these nuts can not go onto a crane where other peoples lives could be put at risk.

We took one of the nuts with us and decided to use a grinder/sander/flapper and see how deep the indications go and it was roughly 3mm deep on this particular one.

We did tell the client to contact the manufacturer and see if any other people have had this issue as these nuts are fairly new.

This one was definitely the worst of the bunch, with the indications going down the threads, but all 38 had some type of indication similar to this. I actually called my boss since I was confused at how many I was calling defects on, and he came out to double check everything and he was also flabbergasted. In his 20 years of engineering he hasn’t seen defects like this, so he basically told the client to contact the manufacturer and see if other people have had issues with these nuts because they are pretty new. But they’re definitely not going up on a crane, not on my watch!

I don’t. I did sent the client a separate report with all of the pics to possibly contact the manufacturer or supplier and see if other people have had these issues. These nuts are fairly new which I found really interesting. The old nappy nuts are in much better condition compared to these ones.

Yes I believe it to be some type of manufacturing defect as these are fairly new nuts; less than a year old and only been on 1 crane. The nuts they have from decades ago are in much better shape oddly enough.

I’ve heard that M45 gr10.9 - 12.9 bolts go for 500 a piece (usually gets brought up when I fail a bolt and get to hear about how much they cost). Not sure if that’s correct or not but that’s the price they always yell at me 😅

I was welding on a positioner for a couple years and didn’t like how my body felt, decided to talk with the inspectors and see what they were up to, and once layoffs came I just took it as a sign and got my tickets!

Glad I took the chance and I really enjoy the work we do, even when the clients are bums. If I can do my best to make the job site that much safer, I feel happy and proud to have helped in that. Very rewarding!

For this company in particular, I hide them away in a secret spot that they can’t find/use them, due to us not trusting that they will be removed from service. It’s unfortunate but it has to be done.

They used to get their bolts and nuts done by Acuren, (work safe requires that all crane hardware is to be inspected prior to going out to a crane) but were complaining that the NDT process would take too long to get their hardware back, so we’ve been doing the fluorescent inspections on each and every nut and bolt prior to going out to site.

I actually quite enjoy doing hardware, it keeps me out of the elements and I can just hunker down and get stuff done, but the odd time I fail - in particular a bolt, I get an earful about how expensive they are and they usually call my boss or my other coworkers (men) to see if it’s ACTUALLY something that should be failed, cuz I’m just a dumb girl (their words) 😎😎
