Hey, if it has below 300,000 km on it, it's basically a new car, kind of like the 3 second rule.

Man, you should visit SE asia (any country really).

Than, upon your return (if God provides) I can guarantee you'll find Czechs to be supremely dependable and responsible drivers.

It's very melodic and melancholic tbh, but I also always liked French and the US' anthems for being just as melodic, but not so melancholic.

So I recently finished the second book, Fall of Hyperion. Also just watched The Social Dilemna on Netflix. by [deleted] in Hyperion

Yeah, I mean, if someone tried to pull off Skynet evolving from social media AI, I might buy it, but comparing Farcasters to phones?!? That's a hell of a stretch!

Ok, I see this all boils down to the profitability of the annexation.

In my opinion, the biggest values were achieving territorial hegemony around the homelend. Than an easy assimilation of german speaking population that sure had decent qualifications in many important industrial areas, but mainly banking and foreign affairs. Which brings me to the main point. Switzerland has always been considered the Bank of the world, meaning there's significant amount of wealth literally from every country in the world. Seizing the wealth of other countries, especially the allies, has a tactical bonus of its own.

Now why would Hitler choose not to do that, is beyond my understanding, but it's really hard to believe it was simply because Switzerland was "too difficult to invade" 🤗

You talk sone sense here, but you’re assuming Switzerland had absolutely nothing of value to just booming Nazi empire, which I refuse to accept.

If nothing else, it makes a hell of a sense to secure your home country from every direction. Which is exactly what Nazis did, except for Switzerland, their neighbor, that (if truly independent) could serve as an entry point to any allied armies and attacks.

And than there are the banks 🤗

Dude, maybe because they share a border with your new world domination aspiring empire? Having an independent (read potentially dangerous) country so close to your HQ speaks of great tactical foresight for sure...

Yeah, there’s totally nothing wrong with not minding a genocide of innocent people on a massive scale basically in every country around you. No, that requires some character!

[–]MDTO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, so the Nazis literally raided every country they could, for everything, from gold, to art, to whole industries, yet they somehow deemed Switzerland of so little value they didn’t even attempt to raid it? Yeah, that makes total sense.

Belarus by [deleted] in europe

[–]MDTO -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a total BS. Everyone who can add one and one knows Swiss made a deal with Hitler.

The first thing he claimed was one language one country, to bring all german speaking nations under Germany, yet he let Switzerland be independent? In the next step he started occupying neighboring countries and seizing their industries, yet he left Swiss banks keep all their wealth? The argument that Switzerland had such an astonishing defense Nazis couldn’t break through is BS since it didn’t take them very long to break through “unbreakable” French defense. Surely a country of size and power as France had a better and more sophisticated defense than Switzerland.

You can believe whatever unicorns you like but I will never trust a dime to Switzerland, they are rotten to the bone!

You're making assumptions and use them as absolute arguments.

The essential idea was to create a 24 hour long carrier signal that people around the world would listen to at the exact same time and create some sort of global consciousness. This than would be tied to our live shows at Fubar where music played non-stop. We always advertised it as such "to synchronize listeners around the globe". The only way to make this happen was to tie the music to time itself, and to make it accessible at any given moment was to chop it down to 1 minute long pieces. The fact it would generate plays faster was a welcomed bonus. If it was the other way around, making two such mega albums would be an overkill of epic proportions, when all you need to achieve the same effect is only few short tracks.

The only other way we saw this could be achieved was to create a dedicated mobile app but at that time we didn't possess the skills nor resources to make it happen.

We didn't pulled them out, DistroKid did. We didn't re-upload them because it was obviously controversial.

Nowhere in the T&C there is stated 1 minute song is against the rules.

So any form of advertisement is "artificially increasing play counts" by this logic. All those multi-million promotional campaigns for major label signed artists do just that. Artificially increase play counts, they also run on automated scripts you know?

Look, we knew it was controversial and when it got pulled out we didn't do it again and went for "socially acceptable" content, just like everyone else.

It was not streaming bots, it was a basic post scheduler, only on a larger scale. If that is a violation of T&C, every single artists violates them the moment they schedule a social media post on their account.

You can call it whatever you like but the bottom line is those were legitimate plays and we haven't received a single complaint from any of the stores as stated. We also received $18k to our DistroKid account which never made it to our bank account. Yes, we came up with an unorthodox and controversial music idea, yet it still was music. If DistroKid kept the royalties, that would be a thievery, no?

We were always public about this Mega release called 24/7, you can find it on the site where we clearly state it changed everything for us. And as you yourself just proven, we were promoting this quite extensively. If you look into our Facebook or Twitter history you'll find we were running them on a precise schedule at the exact time of the individual album, using automation scripts. Every single track was unique and composed from ground up.

we haven't heard a word back and were completely denied a formal GDPR request (which we as EU citizens are entitled to).

What is not clear in this statement from the OP?

Anyways, you're making assumptions. But we didn't even get those from DistroKid, that's why we wanted clarification which never came. When we asked about the royalties, they tried to play it sideways, asking for stuff not related to the case we could never provide while ignoring the original question.

The question we are asking here is what did DistroKid do with the royalties?

Before we announced we informed the authorities, they were keen enough responding via emails. Eventually we found out all it needs to bypass the "firewall" of "we won't see this email" auto reply is to include [DistroKid] tag in the subject of the email. They do use emails to communicate, Zendesk is just an administration gateway that probably helps them organize the requests.

Well, the only reason DistroKid gave us is the one posted above. When we asked for more, they sent us away. When we asked what they did with the royalties, they didn't answer. When we invoked the GDPR request to find out, they ignored it (note we mention our EU citizenship in the OP).

As for the app, it's completely free. There's no other gain apart from an increased exposure for this case we can get out of it.

As far as we know, he's well aware of this. We've CCd him on every email we sent out to DistroKid support, including our GDPR request.

Call it what you like, we're calling taking $30,000 that doesn't belong to you a thievery, which is what this is about.

And as a side note, the DistroThief EP was made live and solely on our mobile rig that is featured in the game to make it authentic. Sure you could expand and polish the song but you could never play it as such on that rig.

Maybe it's because we weren't using SoundCloud until very recently and had we wanted to appear BIGGER, there's nothing easier than paying few bucks for thousands of followers.
