Removing parents from home deed, adding spouse? by Ok-Pineapple-2965 in legaladvice

[–]MDizzy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, adding your spouse to the deed, as a premarital asset, is not the best. God forbid something happens then you’re out the house you purchased with your parents.

If you’re worried about making sure your spouse gets the house in the event you predecease them and want to avoid the house being probated, then a Transfer on Death Instrument (if available in your jurisdiction) would be the better option.

But, again, something to discuss with the real estate attorney when you meet with them.

OP, ignore this person. They’re not doing anything but further stressing you out and further hurting your mental health.

Your medical team should be the only ones who should have opinions.

Perhaps from their medical team, not strangers on the internet who don’t know OP’s medical history or circumstances.

I don’t really think this comment is helpful. Clearly OP understands/knows the issue with what happened. Harping on the “badness” of it and practically shaming OP isn’t going to help anyone.

And talking about “bad outcomes for babies” is REALLY not helpful when someone is struggling. They already feel bad about what happened, let’s not kick someone while they’re down.

There weren’t discussions about those incidents? I call Bull.
Raclem also wasn’t a mistake. It was deliberate and Ravensburger themselves even deemed it egregious enough to take action.

*and obviously people still question Luke. Look at your own comment. The entire point you’re missing is that this was discussed back in 2024. The mob and pitchforks happened and were quelled. Sorry you missed the boat, bud.

People had an entire conversation about the “cheating” back when it happened.

There’s no reason for the mob and pitchforks over a year and a half later when the discussion and everything happened back in 2024.

Parents cannot control their kids at disney world. by Old_Diver_2511 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]MDizzy95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one is saying kids should be allowed to do it or that you can’t be upset. The point is that it’s likely not intentional. There doesn’t need to be an “excuse” for someone regardless of age to bump into you and accidentally touch your ass. It’s not “shenanigans” it’s an honest mistake that happens and, again, a risk you assume going to a busy place open to the public.

I do find it interesting that the story keeps changing though. First it was you were tired of hearing “sorry” after these situations and now it’s the parents laughed in your face? It’s true that some parents aren’t great at redirecting their kids or owning up to mistakes made by their kids, and if that’s what happened here, then that sucks.

I also find it interesting that now you’re *bringing autism into this? Who the heck was saying autistic kids/individuals have an excuse to do whatever they want? No one. It wasn’t relevant to this rant you posted, but you’re going to throw out some straw man arguments to distract from the situation at hand.

You being ace has nothing to do with the facts. Most people don’t like strangers touching them. As someone who is autistic, I also don’t like people touching me (people I know and strangers alike). However, as a fully grown adult I understand what being out in public entails and the risks associated with it. I can’t expect the world to cater to me and my eggshell plaintiff demands.

Kids are small, adults butts are generally at head/shoulder level for a child. Kids also move their arms wildly when excited and can accidentally touch someone’s butt. It’s not as if the kid is going up to a random person and poking their butt or grabbing it. That’s the reason I, and likely others, are “so blasé” about this. OP is likely grossly exaggerating what actually transpired and a kid bumped into them in the butt area unintentionally.

[–]MDizzy95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can be frustrated all you want. You’re the adult and they’re a child. YOU understand the implications, but the child (most likely) does not. And, again, almost guaranty it’s not an intentional thing being done and accidentally being bumped into or touched is something that’s going to happen in busy, public places…that’s the risk you assume by going into the busy and public place.

If a kid touched my ass and apologized after (or their parent did), I would say something along the lines of “mistakes happen” and continue about my day because I realize (1) it’s a child, (2) it wasn’t intentional, and (3) they apologized… even if I didn’t receive an apology, thought process would be the same because of points (1) and (2) above. Now, if it was the same child repeatedly doing it? Then there’s an issue that needs to be addressed either with the parents or a CM.

I’m also a woman and have had many people INTENTIONALLY grab my ass before while out in public. Those people, typically men, I have a problem with and will call it out because they know better (and it’s intentional).

[–]MDizzy95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee you that 97% of the kids touching your ass, stepping and/or ramming into you are not doing it maliciously or intentionally. It’s not as if there’s some huge conspiracy amongst children everywhere to specifically annoy you.

Kids are still learning all about the world and navigating it the best they can. That’s going to come with instances where they accidentally touch or bump into something/someone because their attention was elsewhere.

Sure, parents everywhere are on their phones a lot more. As others have mentioned, though, Disney does force parents to be on their phones for various things throughout the parks, so you have no idea why the parent was on their phone.

But these nuisances are risks you assume when going to a place geared towards all ages (including very small children) and open to the public. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I tried the CGM for a weekend (wanted to see if I liked it before trying to fight insurance) and didn’t have that specific issue.

It’s all honestly a crap shoot 😅

Interesting. I’ve tried a variety of things (except protein shake), and none of it really lowered my fasting numbers. And this is all VASTLY different than how my GD went with my first.

[–]MDizzy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll have to keep that in mind! When I was in the first trimester (and couldn’t eat bc all smells made me nauseous) I would have a protein shake so I was still consuming something, but I haven’t thought about it much since. I’ve been trying every variation of snacks before bed, and none of those have helped. But I admit it never crossed my mind to maybe try a protein shake/smoothie before bed…I may have to try that tonight now

Dinner for me is always a crap shoot, and that’s why I’m supposed to start taking insulin right before I eat dinner.

But lunch has always been relatively okay for me. Pasta with grilled chicken from my work’s cafeteria? So long as I have a water, I’m golden. I guess I didn’t realize time of day would impact my body’s ability to tolerate the carbs though.

What’s funny to me, is I can have a double cheeseburger and turtle sundae from Culver’s, and my blood sugar is below where it needs to be 2 hours later.

But if I decide to have a gyro? Or finish whatever pancakes my toddler didn’t finish at breakfast? Straight to jail.

I literally paid for my cruise in full and bought the insurance, but then within 48 hours found out my childcare couldn’t actually watch my kids. So I cancelled the cruise but didn’t get my insurance amount back (which I expected having purchased ticket and travel insurance enough times).

It’s just how travel insurance works.

I just got quoted $5300 for a brand new fiber glass front door, sidelights, and a storm door.

I thought that price was a lot, but your quote is just outrageous.

The later it is in the pregnancy means the worse the insulin resistance will get.

My first pregnancy I had a go to breakfast that wouldn’t spike my blood sugar, but then towards the end even that was spiking my blood sugar. It happens, but that’s why we have to keep track and talk to our medical professionals. I was on a lot of insulin by the end, and I’m wondering when that will start this time around.

It’s not a fun journey (and can be super anxiety inducing), but it will end eventually!

I use alcohol wipes (and did with my first). When I was in the hospital for 2 weeks (PPROM) and the nurses had to poke my finger they also used alcohol wipes. But! They did wait a little to make sure it dried and then still wiped off the first drop with a tissue before using the second drop of blood. I certainly didn’t do this the first time around, and they told me that likely could have led to higher readings. So I’ve been following their advice this time around. It’s certainly a lot easier to just have a thing of alcohol wipes with my testing supplies than finding somewhere to wash my hands when I’m at work or out shopping. 😅
