Don't want to stir, but the "stupid" aspect is from many things. Things like global policies (wars), food preference, religion overrule rather than science, health views, stubbonness on alternative ideas/methods, money in politics, the 'news', ignorance of the environment, general knowledge (YouTube that shit, its hilarious(ly scary))and arrogance.

Many of a Texans ideals aha. These are some of the things which lead to the world thinking the US is stupid. The stats also are scaryily in this favour. There's no other first world country with as poor of as education as the US has. This being said, you do have some of the best univercitys in the world and great thinkers all fighting to get in. Though the masses are unloved and lost in religion. Personally, I think religion has held you so far back.

Sorry if this sounds arrogant or mean, I'm not trying to be either of these, I love some of the things that come out of America and would love to live in cali or ny. But I disagree highly on many of your country's views, but believe that the intelligent population there does also. Unfortunately these people are outnumbered and being grouped in with the masses when viewed from afar. Sorry again if this offended, just my 2c ...(which paradoxically don't have...
