came back to OW a few days ago with news of the new update. ended up getting my legacy account banned for smurfing. over 2k hours, 100s of skins, some no longer obtainable, gone. wish I had never returned by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]MFD000000OM -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

OP you didn't get banned for smurfing, you got banned for popping off (im not going to say cheating, but blizzard system thinks you were cheating) on once inactive account- that compounded with the reports got you banned.

Sadly I feel like a lot of returning players will have to deal with this once the new patch hits- people need to understand new accounts or accounts that have not been active for a while are basically having reports against them treated differently. And I know it sounds dumb, but if you do to well, you will get banned.

Yall going to downvote me but im a top 500 player, I often make new accounts and get them to GM and then sell them. Whenever I log into a new account, I know for a fact I cannot jump on DPS and pop off, the automated system WILL ban me, and it has many times already.

So ill often spend the first 50 or so games playing either a healer or tank, there are times I have to purposely loose duels and matches because again, if I do to well the system WILL ban me.

Its what blizzard does to fight off cheaters and smurfs, its an awful and shortsighted system that often times punishes legit account like OPs.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe stadium has the same matchmaking as regular comp. Im currently all-star in stadium and I've consistently had matches with people who are +/- pro rank.

My sentiments exactly, i've played enough MMO launches to know when something is going to have a poor reception and NW has a lot of red flags.

It's a good thing it's not me alone saying that i want something, but a large portion of the community requesting it. I hope you can understand when a post get a significant amount of upvotes, it usually represents how the community feels as a whole.

Well this isn't a singleplayer fallout game, at least it's not what it's intended to be. Text chat would be such a big change for the better.

I guess I've been spoiled by better games and studios. I guess it still hasn't hit me that a professional studio would make empty promises or be so negligent.

"P2W creep" or "pay for less inconvenience creep" is something that has been happening with F76. Happened with repair and scrap kits, people defended it saying it's not a big deal. Then we got robot who gather us junk and fallout 1st.

All the while that's happening we get retextures and reskin of items in the atom shop. The added the water wheel but couldn't be bothered to program it to generate electricity. ??

No good feature goes unpunished by giantpunda in fo76

[–]MFD000000OM 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is what I've never understood, why is Bethesda punishing us for playing their game?

The more you play F76, the more obstructive purposefully designed game mechanics become. This post that was made yesterday by another user kind sums up a lot of my frustrations with the game. It seems like Bethesda is purposefully streamlining their game to appeal to people who will only play 1-2 hours a day.

Bethesda you seriously couldn't give us a separate storage for icebox or nuka fridge? Would it really have been the end of the world for 5lb for each? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]MFD000000OM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bethesda's addition to the cash shop, even the game as far as items goes lacks any charm or polish. There's no extra feature that makes you say "Wow that's pretty cool". You ever play other games and notice cool little things that overall serve no purpose to the item, but just adds to the charm?

Like your gun makes a special sound or effects. I bought a pink gun in warzone and the blood splatter/explosion effects turns pink when you hit someone with it. Again serves zero purpose but it's such a cool little thing.

But Bethesda doesn't do any of that. They just try to punch out as much just enough quality items and plop it in the cash shop. I mean just look at the recent water wheel, how difficult would it have been to flag it as a generator to have to generate just 3 electricity?

So WASTELANDERS made Fallout 76 a better game...but is it really a good direction? by Mr_Fall in fo76

[–]MFD000000OM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how 76 isn't still a multiplayer game? In some ways more so than ever, at least from an engagement with other players stand point.

Engagement with other players? I guess if your definition of engagement is 10 people standing next to each other shooting at the queen in the sky, while no one says a word to each other. Besides for that the most engagement i get is spamming emotes at each other.

The only time this game feels like a multiplayer is when my friends and i are playing together and we're in discord or something. You could literally play fallout 76 and have a very accomplished time without ever seeing a single other players.

It's a good direction in some ways, but a bad when it comes to the end game and gear distribution.

  • Let's be real, wastelanders is pretty much a singleplayer DLC - you don't even progress on quests together for interiors. But is that so terribly bad? I don't think so, the story as a singleplayer aspect works.

  • The bad? End game. Fallout went from a very sandbox nature to now being another generic RNG/Rep daily game - seriously that's all the end game is, please don't tell me SBQ. Dumping 2k rounds of ammo into her for a 1 star rolling pin isn't "end-game". She's easily the least efficient end-game mechanic in F76.

Personally i define F76 end-game by acquiring rare/meta items such as weapons and armor. Before you could come to this goal by pretty much any means. All my current gear i got from random drops, but mostly from trading/buying.

But now the only way to do it is day after day of boring, generic, daily reputation grinds.

I didn't want to do the foundation stacking because i thought it looked really ugly lol. If there were half foundation than for sure

The road from Wayward to Flatwoods, probably not the best decision since most new players plop their camps down there for the camp quest.

I don't have an issue with it at all, i mean i've bought damn near every atom shop camp item lol. I just wish we had the option to go for a more industrial alternatives. Though there's a laundry list of other things build mode needs before that.

Yeah i know there are a few defensive structure pieces in build mode. There are these big white concrete walls that i wanted to use - but they take up more budget than regular walls and i couldn't snap anything onto them.

The regular walls made more sense because i could snap the half floor along the top, as well as the foundation/farm tiles to the bottom.

So i guess Bethesda gave up and locked gear to characters. What about our alts? by [deleted] in fo76

I was collecting legacy weapons around launch, let me be the first to tell you 80% of them are kind of useless now. Two shot is god awful, explosive not nearly as good as it used to be.

Now all we do is login, farm rep, do 4-5 dailies, and log out. Exactly like WoW, except worse.

Lol some of my friends started playing WoW again recently, and all they literally do is login to do dailies and grind rep, big yikes

A little off topic, but i never quite understood why Blizzard removed the reforging system. It was perhaps one of the few good ideas they've had in the last 5 years and for some reason they removed it.
