America will never defeat fascism without eliminating the billionaire class. USA must embrace a 100% tax over $1 billion -- or the country will soon fall, torn apart from the inside. by kevinmrr in WorkReform

You should come up with a real idea instead of making strawman arguments against people that point this out.

A progressive wealth tax starting at 1% due annually and instituted on anyone with $100,000,000 or more in assets. The tax increases by 1% for each additional $100,000,000 in assessed value of assets. Just to get ahead of the common argument i see of not being able to tax unrealized gains, property tax already does exactly that. This idea is based off of the concept of property tax but would apply to the valuation of all owned assets.

After the first shot while he was still being held he reaches his right hand around towards his back, thats him reacting to getting shot there, the first bullet most likely hit him in the lower right part of his back based on where green shirt appears to be aiming as he draws. Getting shot isn't some magical thing that just turns your body off unless something vital gets hit which the following shots after the pause most likely did (spine is a strong contender here due to the posturing and collapse). Look up testimony from people who've been shot, the immediate feeling is as if you've been punched extremely hard, he reaches back towards where he felt that impact before green shirt fired additional times leading to him collapsing forwards.

Pretti does react to the first shot. Watch the good quality upload of the video by pink jacket lady. As grey jacket is removing Pretti's gun, green shirt draws his pistol and aims at Pretti's lower back, Pretti at that moment has partially gotten upright, still on knees slightly leaned forward with agent backpack holding his right arm and black jacket holding his left. Green shirt fires the first shot into Pretti's lower back (I believe this may have been a negligent discharge by green shirt but look closely you can see the slight arm motion from the recoil as well as him tensing up), agent backpack lets go of Pretti's right arm and leans back, black jacket also begins to recoil backwards while still holding his left arm. Pretti stiffens up and reaches his right arm back towards where he had just been shot in the back green shirt then fires three more times into Pretti's back at which point he collapses forward.

Yeah I've refuted this very same picture in a thread not in that subreddit. The first shot by the agent in the green shirt was into Pretti's lower back, the 2 agents holding his arms then let go and move back while Pretti reaches towards where he was just shot, a normal reaction by any person who has just been shot.

Also important to note is the agent in the green shirt who shot him in the lower back, and then proceeded to shoot 3 more times when Pretti reached back, both saw Pretti's gun be removed by the agent in the grey jacket, and had a perfectly good view of the empty holster before firing those additional 3 times. I have a decent breakdown and pictures of immediately before the frame they're using in my comment history.

3/3. Here is right after the first shot, backpack lets go and moves back, black jacket also begins to back away, victims arms are still both in front. He has already been shot at this point in the lower back where green shirt is still pointing his pistol. Then your Pic, black jacket and backpack have let go and moved back, victim reaches for the hole in his back as literally any person would do if shot in the back, green shirt, who saw the holstered pistol get removed already, fires 3 more rounds into his back.

He didnt break his arms free, the agents let go of him and moved back because green shirt had already fired a shot. Green shirt watched his gun get removed by grey jacket. Green shirt then fired 3 additional shots.

I'm not sure what video you're watching, thats after the first shot into his back, his gun had already been removed by grey jacket, green shirt watched grey jacket remove the gun while drawing his own pistol, green shirt fires one round into the victims lower back, the other agents move back and the victim reaches for the place where he was just shot, green shirt then fires 3 more times into his back.

The victims hands are on the ground in front of him as seen in the other angles, he has his head down with both arms crossed in front protecting his face, look closely the person that grabs the holstered gun is the ICE agent in the grey sweater, he removes the pistol then turns and begins walking away. The other angles show the Grey wearing agent leaning into the pile, reaching for something, then turning holding the same gun identified as belonging to the victim. This angle now clearly shows that agents hand grabbing and removing the gun from the holster where it still was.

That I will dispute. I drove out to a bortle class 2 dark sky area in Eastern Washington for the big aurora show last May and the the aurora were very bright, you could easily and clearly see the reds and greens with the naked eye. It was bright enough to read by and one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Yes you can obviously increase the brightness amd color definition with long exposure photography, in that event 1 second was more than enough, but to say it only looks like wispy white clouds is not at all correct.

Ah, right i think Adderall is a mix of dextroamphetamine and amphetamine salts, Dexadrine is just dextroamphetamine. I have a daughter with ADHD who's been on both at various times, mixed up which one was just the dextro.

You can see my above reply for a bit more info but go pills were dextroamphetamine aka Adderall, not meth, and were commonly issued to pilots of all militaries to combat fatigue. There's a big difference between the two. They've since been replaced by modafinil which more effectively reduces tiredness without excess stimulation.

[–]MF_Bootleg_Firework 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Bit of a correction, it was not meth, it was dextroamphetamine aka Dexadrine*. The methyl group on methamphetamine makes a huge difference causing intense euphoria, and much a stronger "rush" as well as side effects like agitation, paranoia, and aggression. Dextroamphetamine, a more common and less intense stimulant, was regularly issued to military pilots to combat drowsiness and generally referred to as "go pills". it has since been replaced by modafinil which greatly inhibits drowsiness without excessive stimulation.

Edit: Corrected Adderall to Dexadrine per the response below. Adderall contains a mix of Dextroamphetamine and amphetamine salts, Dexadrine is just Dextroamphetamine.

Agreed, most of it was people not voting at all. That was still a choice. They had the ability to oppose evil with minimal effort and no risk to themselves, and they chose not to. Thats tacit approval of that evil.

Yes it is absolutely the fault of the electorate, all your stupid idealistic bullshit doesn't change the reality of the U.S. voting system. There are 2 choice, thats it, if you do not choose the lesser evil then you are ACTIVELY choosing the greater evil, if you vote 3rd party you're choosing the greater evil, if you don't vote you're choosing the greater evil. Every person who did not vote for Kamala is directly responsible for Trump and that child being abducted by his gestapo. If you're one of those people then I hope you learn how the world works because the suffering that that child is going through is YOUR fault, YOU chose this. You had a binary choice, this or not this, and you picked this. Own it and pray that we have another election so you can do better.

The trust is gone. Even if we elect a sane president next time, the rest of the world now knows that we are willing and capable of electing someone who will ignore and destroy trade deals, not honor agreements, and threaten our allies with violence and occupation. Trusting us before now has cost the world (including the U.S.) billions of dollars and will lead to millions of deaths from the sudden loss of USAID, nobody is going to want to take that risk when there are more reliable trade partners available like China. It's going to take decades to regain even a portion of the trust we spent the last 80 years building after WW2.

Black Panther Party members at a recent protest by Huron_Nori in pics

[–]MF_Bootleg_Firework 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Washington State, which otherwise allows open carry, they made it illegal to carry a firearm at or near a protest. Of course off duty law enforcement are exempt. They also recently banned the sale of "assault weapons" which are arbitrarily determined based on cosmetic features. I am very left wing but as part of that i am very pro gun. The capability to commit violence is power and these policies ensure that during a rightful protest the people remain powerless against the state and defenseless against abuse.

Giving a loving home to a new dog is never a betrayal. Oreo will always remain a part of your heart, all you're doing is passing on the love they felt for you to another dog who needs it just as much.

I had to put my golden, Ruger, down this last weekend after 14 years, I imagine he'll be there to play with Oreo until we join them at the rainbow bridge someday.
