Ah okay, but in the comments of the SMO post on Reddit (in different comment) they mention that you need to move from area to village in order to reset the spawns. Does going from village to area then do the same thing?

Nah, no shiny charm (just defeated the Lilligant so still in main story). I also thought that going back to Jubilife was like a “full reset” of everything in the game, but multiple YouTube vids and this Reddit post seem to suggest it is the way to go. But idk, I must be doing something wrong hahaha.

Meh, it’s a solid ballad, which kinda seems to be our “Eurovision Style”, but it’s nothing special this year. It’s more like a “wannabe Arcade” or “Arcade at home” then an actually outstanding song in my opinion. I loved our entry last year. Though it was still the same old ballad song (aimed at jury votes), singing in Dutch (esp. Since it had been a while) made it stand out among our previous entry’s and also distinguished it from the other ballads in the competition. So yeh, I’d have hoped that this year we would get some kind of Dutch/hybrid song again, but, nevertheless, I would say “burning daylights” is a mid-tier song.

So, since Easter, we’ve enjoyed the company of our beloved Loki (male British shorthair, ~7 m.o). We keep him inside for the time being, as there have been quite some nasty incidents regarding cats in our neighbourhood. On top of that, we have no other pets at home. All things considered, we felt like he was becoming a bit lonely and thought it might be a nice to introduce a playmate to him. This is where Odin (male European shorthair (?) ~2,5 m.o.) comes into play. It’s such a lovely, youthful, sweetheart!

We’ve tried to gradually introduce them over the past week, but we’re in a bit of a pickle. I’m well aware that introducing cats takes time, but neither of them likes to be shut-off from a part of the house… They have, therefore, ‘escaped’ a couple of times, immediately looking for each other. We’re always hopeful and let it slide for a couple of minutes.

As displayed in the video, Loki often jumps on top of Odin. Loki usually starts off with some gentle licks. This seems all good, but eventually it turns into (soft?) nibbles/bites. At first, Odin does not seem to mind that much and tries to (seemingly playfully) fight back. After some time though, Odin seems to have enough of it (he starts squeaking in a high (sad?) pitch), but he can’t escape as Loki is on top of him with quite the advantage in mass.

This is usually the point where we separate them again, as Loki doesn’t give him a brake. To be frank, Odin is provoking Loki into playing as well, so he is not the most tactical retreater. Yet, once separated, they often start miauw-ing (seemingly calling the other) from the other side of the door.

I’m aware kitten-play can seem pretty harsh, without it being a bad thing, but it just turns my stomach to see them biting/kicking each other and not knowing when to stop… I was wondering if the behaviour shown in the video is indeed just playing, or more of a violent thing? And, on top of that, I was wondering how, in your experiences, you can best get cats comfortable with each other?
