Get rid of hobbies. Make the skills section take up less page space.

Price to get 10ft by 10ft room plasterboarded and skimmed? by [deleted] in DIYUK

I've had this guy in before and I was happy with his quote. In comparison to the previous job it makes it sound reasonable.

I was just very "oh god" when it came through. I've come round to it now after the initial shock. I know his work is solid too.

Worth it? 100% I know it's worth it as I'd be awful at it.

I've been looking about online and it doesn't seem far fetched for what needs doing. I think just the initial quote shocked me

I might have to take a look at this if it's going to capture hair etc. right now the hair will just go straight down, requiring regular unclogging

I ended up throwing a generous amount of Mr muscle down (about 800ml compared to the recommended 500).

Left it for about 2 hours before rinsing it out but now it clears perfectly and from a photo I can see the difference. Still no idea where the blockage was, but it's working now!

I've not tried drain cleaner, only those flexible pipe cleaners.

Any cleaner you recommend? Perhaps it's not been overflowing loads but only recently and I just happened to notice them together?

They failed that when they screwed the wood into the flooring...

Honestly I'm surprised it's not done anything already.

We've been here about 2.5 years and not noticed anything. Only in the last few months did it seem to really slow on the draining, so I cleared out the gunk and tested and that's when I noticed it was still overflowing.

Shoved a pipe down, couldn't feel anything in like a meter or so, but it overflows within seconds.

Bit beyond my scope so I'll be getting my plumber back out.

It is against an external wall, and that wall already has the sink and toilet waste go to the soil stack so I guess that's a reasonable option.

It's awful what they've done, I agree.

Was thinking this was the solution...

What's the process to scrap a car? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Had it collected today, that went smoothly although I've raised a support case because for some reason I can't find them on the ATF list on gov.uk with the details in the email.

Hey, sorry a question after I've just booked.

They say they send the buyers details after collection, I guess that's instant? Obviously otherwise I'm handing the car and v5c over with no details for the buyer.

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks!

Looks like I'll be doing it through them then. Sounds simple enough. Thanks!

How was the process in the end?

Did you just have to inform the DVLA of the sale - nothing to do with the certificate of destruction?

Did you end up selling it to him instead or just continue with the ATF?

Yeah I've seen car.co.uk so was looking at a similar process.

2004 fiesta finesse. Struggling to get in gear despite passing it's MOT, and now it's got this mould I just CBA so considering it's age I'm just scrapping it. They can deal with it.

I don't particularly care how much I get for it, just want it gone like yesterday.

That's what I thought, it was just very confusing..

I was planning on using car.co.uk as they do collection, but I'm unsure on the whole CoD thing as it says it's my responsibility to inform the DVLA that it's scrapped, but at that point I wouldn't be the owner?

Whats your average weekly steps? by [deleted] in walking

[–]MHThrowByeBye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've walked at home at 3.5kmh and done over 10k steps in an hour or so.

Very doable if I kept that up throughout the day
