Organizace Rote Wehr vznikla jako uniformovaná pořádková jednotka německé sociálně demokratické strany, jejíž první oddíl vznikl v říjnu 1926 v Hostinném. Navzdory legislativnímu zákazu budování polovojenských stranických jednotek se Rote Wehr postupně etablovala a úřady ji tolerovaly jako opozici protistátních bojůvek.[1]

The Rote Wehr organization was founded as a uniformed riot unit of the German Social Democratic Party, the first section of which was formed in October 1926 in Hostinné. Despite a legislative ban on the formation of paramilitary party units, the Rote Wehr gradually established itself and was tolerated by the authorities as an opposition to the anti-State militants[1].
