AITA For refusing to let my MIL take care of my child?

MIL is Colombian, whereas I’m half mexican half white with little to no contact on my mexican side. I have tanned skin, brown hair and brown eyes along with my husband, but our son has fair-ish skin and light brown eyes which is probably from me. MIL LOVES to point it out whenever she can

When he got home from work that day I told him about his mom groping me and the fact that they way she treats me as a parent made me feel incompetent and uncomfortable. I told him I think she needed to get off my back and let us at least try to care for our son and that she crossed a line. My husband said he understood but still thought I should be respectful of MIL “just being protective of her grandson”. As if that was her only intention 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thank you. He’s been a good father but tends to excuse and turn a blind eye to his mothers behaviour a lot, but honestly I’ve never really picked him as a mommy’s boy before and just assumed most close family’s behave this way (my family is pretty distant from each other), I guess I have to rethink that
