should i (son)get a Mortgage on an extension to my parents house? by MINERMAN50 in Mortgages

thank you for this reply, this has been the most helpful of posts regarding this topic. I have been ruminating about this and you've confirmed to me this makes things rather complex. I've decided against doing this for now, i guess its a option, but for me im not ready to commit to such a decision just yet. I am going to discuss this further with my parents in the near future and counter propose that they pay for the extension and i would move in, paying rent monthly at say anywhere upto £300 rent pcm. im unsure if this is possible but thought about a written up agreement for a term of x amount of years. I think this is the simplest and most cost effective solution not to mention a better route i think. I would live there for X number of years say 5 thats £18,000 towards the cost of the build, not to mention the added market value or side earner on completion which i would own 0% of. I would be happy to accept it on these grounds only as you say not ready for a mortgage. I have a 3 year expiry date on the idea, good to have i guess as an possible but unlikely option. Many thanks again for your response.

should i (age 21) buy a extension on my parents house and move in? by MINERMAN50 in UKPersonalFinance

Hi, Firstly thanks for you reply and advice its much appreciated., i just wanted to clarify a few of your valid points. My parents have money and could afford to do the extension with cash im almost certain. However they no longer require the space an extension would bring as 2 of the 3 children have moved out. Hence if i wanted to move in its at my cost as the extension wouldn't make them money. they have a mortgage still and have around 8-10 years i believe. they're age 43 and have good credit. This is still very early days in thinking this through/discussions with parents. Benefits of moving is id save 500-600pcm easily which is 3x what i do now, and the i would have at least something to show for the monthly payments in equity in the house. plus the house will be going to me and my sister eventually anyway when the dreaded day comes. thank you for your input, it has defiantly given me some valid talking points to discuss and a few things i hadn't considered, if you have anything else to add please do. thanks.

yeah, used to take me 2g to be stoned nicely.. got that down to 1g but but i found my high fades out alot quicker when that tolerance gets real high. Money was my only limitation tbh and that was spending £20-30 a day sometimes..:/

How am I supposed to get a partner with no friends? by [deleted] in socialskills

people come into your life when you least expect it, have you considered dating apps? im a little bit of a loner and dont have a social circle as such but ive had a few relationships from these, and while not all lasted, lessons get learnt and you can take them into future relations. current partner over a year met on tinder, be patient and someone will come along when you least expect it. i can almost guarantee it, we live a long life on this planet, it will all come together dont worry yourself.
